Oil lines as electrical ground return? by
Scott Derrick
I accidently wrote my first post as a reply to another thread, so here
it is again on its own.
I have a pusher airplane with a nose oil cooler.
I am replacing the existing heavy hydraulic type(rubber/braided steel)
oil cooler lines with lighter metal lines. Either soft Aluminum or soft
copper 1/2...

PIREP wanted E-mag by
Drew Dalgleish
Just read the kitplanes article on electronic ignitions. Is anyone
here flying with an e-mag p-mag combo that would like to share their
experience. Does it really make more power and any service or
instalation problems. Thanks Drew

Starting a Super Cub Rebuild by
[email protected]
Anybody know of fuselage jigs in the Western North Carolina area or
vicinity?
Also, this aircraft had an O-235 engine with 105 HP. I'm considering
using an O-320A with 150 HP, which weighs just 10 or 20 pounds more.
Anybody got any advice pro or con about the engine change? TIA.

UV and Epoxy? by
Orval Fairbairn[_2_]
Our EAA chapter has received a donation of a Pulsar "Quick Build" kit
that has languished in a hangar for several years.
Looking at the materials, it is apparent that some of it has been
exposed to sunlight coming through windows. The exposure is enough to
discolor those areas that were not...

Gas welding; popping by
Michael Horowitz
OxyAce welding. I know the popping sound I occassionally hear is
because the tip is too hot and either a spark or something else is
igniting the gas while it's still in the welding tip.
GOOGLING around to validate this understanding and ideas for
correcting the problem, I find the following...

Dzus #47 by
Michael Horowitz
I've lost a Dzus fastener off my cowling.
The other fittings have the marking "Dzus 47" on their head.
Looking thru my catalogs, I don't see any of the fitting with that
designation.
Any idea how to cross that designation to something in the catalog? -

Fuel Prices For The July Pilgrimage by
Jim Burns[_3_]
Ahh... I forget. Airnav beats 100LL hands down with mogas pricing.
Airnav shows mogas at KISW, but 100LL.com doesn't.
100LL.com doesn't list Portage either.
Are there any other fuel price sites?
Sorry if my posts are out of "sync", but what is up with the groups?

Young Eagle Credits by
Cy Galley
Did you fly 10 or more Young Eagles last year. What are you going to use
your credits for?
My EAA Chapter 75 can use them as we are sending at our expense, not one but
three young people to EAA Air Advanture camp at Oshkosh. EAA gives us a
dollar credit towards the $1000 tuition for each Young...

I just ordered a Flighttec 401 II ENRI intercom for a J3 CUB (fairly
high noise environment). Does anyone have experience with this
intercom ? I'd appreciate your thoughts.
