Newcomer (Super Senior) - Would like to post a URL for a Google blog site ("From the INSIDE Looking OUT") which is presently in a Beta stage. Is this appropriate and allowable in this Forum?
The Blog is a test bed for a DVD project which will (hopefully) be made available to the aviation...

alternate engine in Falco by
Jonny[_2_]
There are many aircraft that allow for a variety of engines. Some
engine makers even supply cowling/nose bowl kits for popular types
(Rans, Vans) etc.
So, what do you think of using a Jabiru 5100 (8 cyl) in a Falco in
place of the Lycoming io-360?
Jabiru is narrower and less tall, but is a few...

most facile way to move heavy toolcase up/down stairs? by
Alan Horowitz
ET onboard a ship. Have decided after time to have own tools. Got
them packed into one of those larger wheel-around, pull-the-handle-out
check-in hard-shell Samsonites. Ends up being a bit heavy, cause of
tool junkie genetic coding.
Works great..... except when have to go up or down...

were) PLUS improved navigation from page to page, thanks to a great
suggestion from Ben Smith, a regular...

Lazair II by
Tony W
Anybody here have any experience with this little plane? I know it was
originally sold as a kit but the company is gone. Are plans available?
Is it worth trying to build one or are there better options these days?

Lathe Help by
Bruce A. Frank
I have come by a lathe that has some electrical problems. The unit has a
2 hp 3 phase 220 volt motor. One of the magnetic relays was burned out
when I got the lathe. I replaces the relay, turned the switch on and the
brand new relay burned up also. Though the lathe came with most of the
tooling...

Wire for homebuilts. by
clare @ snyder.on .ca
I've come across a supply of wire at a reasonable price that I think I
want to use to wire my plane. It is NOT aircraft wire, but I have all
the spec on it. It is MTW (machine tool wire) AMW 1015/1230, FT1 and
VM1 rated. The 18 guage is 16 strand. Insulation is PVC (not
crosslinked) rated for -55...

Ballistic Rocket Chute FS by
Victor Bravo
I have a rocket deployed ballistic recovery chute for sale on ebay. It
is a Second Chantz model Aerosafe 550. One or two dents in the case but
that should not affect it's functionality. It is used... but never
used. It should be re-packed by a parachute rigger before being mounted
on an aircraft....

Does it have to WHITE!!! by
firstflight
I have a composite kit aircraft, and it is time to paint! But I just hate
the idea of painting it WHITE (like most all the others). I understand that
HEAT is a big factor in this decision, and that white attracts the least
amount of heat which could disrupt the Epoxy over time. Since my plane...

changing operating limitations by
pittss1c
Is it possible to change the operating limitations of your homebuilt
after it has been certified?
Let me take the more extreme case...
I was wondering, if one owned (or bought) an RV3, is it possible to
change the operating limitiations to have a red line of 120 knots, and a
maximum continous RPM...

FRS Channel 3 (no PL) for around the field (we found it to be the least crowded
of the channels last year, but if I catch one more kid screaming obscenities
into their little radios...).

Fabric covering processes by
Jerry Guy
I'm working on a fabric repair on a Pitts, but I'm unsure as to which
process was used. I'm familiar with dope processes. This material
appears to have no base tint to the fabric (green nitrate/red
polyfiber). There is no silver UV coating. There is a white/light grey
base coat and a very glossy...

Maule SFSA Tailwheel Information by
Ron Wanttaja
Drew Fidoe is a Canadian Fly Baby owner whose spare time over the past
several years has been expended on rebuilding his airplane after a hangar
collapsed on it.
During the process, he got interested in the Maule SFSA tailwheel that was
installed on his plane. He's done a lot of research and...
