Advice on a couple of problems with the Arrow by
Jack Allison
Pinging the collective wisdom of the r.a.o folks on a couple of
maintenance issues:
1) Our engine monitor (JPI EDM-700) sometimes indicates sporadic EGT
values for #1 cylinder. It behaves like a sensor or connection issue as
the engine runs fine and the fuel burn is within expected values. ...

I live in the UK and am considering a trip from the San Diego area to Las
Vegas at the end of the year.
I'm yet to get my hands on the charts, and being low on hours I was
wondering if anyone had any advice on how easy the trip would be to make.
or any other relevant advice they could share with...

Advice on buying a 152? by
rajek
I'm considering buying a 1978 Cessna 152 that the owner is leasing to a
flying club. I'd continue to lease it to the club and learn to fly in
it. (I have 3 1/2 hours now.) I'd hope that plane to earn enough money
to cover most of its maintenance and insurance, including a new engine
in a few...

Advice on periodic voltage fluctuation - C172 by
argon39
Recently I have noted an in-flight system voltage fluctuation in my
C-172K. The fluctuations are quasi-periodic, with an amplitude of about
0.4 volts and a period that varies between about 1.6 and 1.8 minutes.
The varations are contained within a band between 14.0/13.9 and
13.6/13.5 volts (the...

Advice request -- buying an airplane by
Casey Wilson
Hello all,
I have an opportunity to buy a 1978 C-172 that appears to be in better
than good condition for a better than good (for me) price. The logs are
current and an annual was completed in February -- I've talked to that
mechanic and he said the ship is in good shape.
I thinking about offering...

Aero Advantage closing shop. by
Eric Ulner
Got this Email today in my mail. I found it a big troubling as I just
installed the Dual pump in September last year in my B35.
(Works great BTW)
Does anyone else know the specifics behind the failure of the vanes,
and if there is an AD pending?

Aero Advantage Dual Pump by
rdant
Am I the only one that still has the Aero Advantage Dual Pump
installed? I see that the AD to remove the pump has finally arrived:
http://dmses.dot.gov/docimages/p84/385862.pdf
This is a stupid AD, in my opinion. The reason for the AD is that both
chambers might fail at the same time. But, how is...

Aero Commander 100 Darter by
Lou
Can anyone tell me why I keep seeing these planes
selling for what seems like a great price? Every once
in a while someone advertises this brand and model,
but different planes for the same price as most Cessna
150's. Why? What is the problem with these planes?

I've given up on this ad. If you guys can find it, and it's still available,
have at it. I'm sure if you look at aerotrader, you noticed page 19 of the
November issue. There was a c-150 in there in running condition. Only $6k.
Only problem is trying to find the damn phone number. I'm sure it has to...

aerobatic C172? by
gt
I own a 1960 Cessna 172 with 2500 hours on the airframe. It is not
rated for aerobatic flight, but the positive and negative G loads that
it is approved for far exceed the normal G forces associated with a
well-executed barrel roll.
Has anyone heard of this maneuver being performed in a 1960 172?

Aerospace Logic CHT+EGT vs EI/JPI EMS by
EridanMan
Hey Guys,
I was wondering if any of you had thoughts about the suitability of
Aerospace Logic CHT+EGT gauges as a substitute for a dedicated multibar
EMS for LOP operations.
While obviously I'd be missing out on all the "cool" features, the
aerospace logic gauges would give me Hottest Cylinder...
