Metal, low-wing, plansbuilt by
Oliver Arend
I'm looking into educating myself about metal aircraft construction by
getting a set of plans for a low-wing airplane. The idea is then to
either design my own plane (no, looking at the plans is not the full
education, there's also a master's degree in aerospace engineering,
I'm more looking for...

bleeding brake help by
Pintlar
Marchetti Sportster...

Four master cylinders, one on each pedal, running to two 'T's, where a
single tube continues to each wing. Thinking of using a vacumn pump, to
pull the fluid down to the caliper.
Also, can anyone...

Diagnostic questions by
Tony W
Hi guys, I've been gone a while but I just picked this group up again.
One day several months ago I loaned my bug to my daughter for the day
and something happened when she was out and about with it and almost
didn't get it home. I'm having trouble narrowing down what's wrong.
When the problem...

Master contactor question by
rich[_2_]
My homebuilt's master contactor is going bad. Sometimes when I turn it
on it doesn't make connection. It's got 1700 hours on it, so I'd just
as soon replace it. But the way the builder wired it, he's has
positive power from the battery going through the master switch to the
small terminal on the...

Many of you in aviation will know the Flying Veterinarian, who repairs

been more clear. It was not 'just anybody' who delivered the
bombshell,...

Why don't wings have dimples 2 by
Dancing Fingers[_2_]
Last night the Mythbusters put about a 2 inch layer of clay a a sedan
and drove it at 65 mph and recorded their mileage. They put dimples
in the clay, like a golf ball, and repeated the same test and got 11%
better mileage. This again begs the question why don't wings have
dimples, especially for...

What happened to Compuserve's AVSIG? by
rich[_2_]
I used to enjoy reading the posts there in their Aviation Special
Interests group. Did it just dissappear into obivion like compuserve
did, or did the users migrate over to usenet? If so, what group?
Maybe the old Avsiger's are here?

I have an opportunity to buy an Avid Flyer at a very atrative price.
There seem some drawbacks, though, and I'll be glad to learn how to
weigh them.
