FS2002 - crash tolerance by latet
Hi, Is it really so hard to crash C172? On FS2002, I land with quite high vertical speed (-2 or -3), the bump and the sound is rather "hard", but the plane is OK. Of course, I have set "crash tollerance" to max. reality. I even once lande successfuly with vertical speed -5. Is that possible on a...

What's the best OS for FSim? by [email protected]
I have some progs which will only work with Win98se and others which only work with XPpro. Since I use both OS is there a preference, when using Flight simulator 2004, to achieve best performance? Thanks, David

New ATC simulator by Shelley
I wanted to reply to a thread about someone asking about ATC simulators, but I haven't managed to work out how to use the newsgroups properly yet - so I apologise for starting a new thread. My husband has developed a new London Control ATC simulator. It's going to be released at the end of...

Which joystick by Oysters8
I got FS 2004 and want to get a good joystick. I can't seem to find reviews. I've pretty much narrowed it down to the Logitech Freedom (wireless), Force 3D (feedback) or the MS Sidewinder Force Feedback Pro 2 (which Amazon says is discontinued -- curious why). Can folks shed a little light for me,...

Just found these NG`s from my newest issue of Computer Pilot. "Dynamite Magazine". Anyway I recently purchased FS2004 and getting a crash on the initial startup screen. I go to "create a flight" and the aircrft type, airport, weather, all seem to take several minutes to load. The little display...

Solid joystick (X-45 or HOTAS quality) with a *twist*? by Zenin
It seems like all the higher end sticks lack twist on the stick? The TM AfterBurner seems like the most flight-sim like that still has a twist and I love the TM software, but I've read a lot of reviews that the AB doesn't hold up. The main reason I want a twist instead of rudders is for some of...

Ground steering and Takeoffs by webmaster
Every time I apply full thorttle the plane tends to go to the left, it doesn't matter if it is a 747 or a cessna, they both show the same behavior. Rudder Pedals are calibrated, wind is 0. what could be the problem?

OE6.x Tip - Adding entire domains to 'Blocked Senders' List by Mark Cherry
To all, You're probably well aware that spammers and trolls employ frequent address changes or completely false email IDs and you may have given up all attempts to add them to your personal blocked senders list. Here's some tips which I hope prove to be of use in finding where it's coming from and...

Anyone own a Falcon Northwest Computer? by Dudley Henriques
I'd like some feed on this computer and suggestions for configuring it for COF if some owner has a few moments to tell me something about it good or bad. I'm especially interested in the company's service after the sale. Is it good or bad? Thanks much Dudley

Defrag before install a good idea? by Mark Cherry
Quick questions for you all, How many of you take the time and trouble to defragment before a major install like FS? Have you ever tried deactivating virtual memory, defragging, then re-enabling virtual memory? (To un-frag the swapfile, in effect) Ever had any problems specifying a fixed-size...

Undocking Windows in FS 04 by goo
Hi Guys, Just bought FS 2004 this afternoon and loaded it up. Pretty good so far.... don't know what the issue is with bridges yet, they are all around Ottawa, Canada in about the right places! (FS2002 didn't have any) In any case the performance seems to be better at first glance. Just one...
