Multipoint Door Latches...need a source... by
DonMorrisey
Howdy,
I have gull wing doors on my homebuilt and need a source for
multipoint door latches. I have already seen the ones made by
Hendricks (also offered at Spruce) but I'm not keen on spending $500
on door latches.
There have to be alternatives and I'm hoping someone has already
solved my...

For what it's worth I did a Google search on our friendly MI5twit and it
seems he is a well know delusional paranoid and the British government
agency he is screaming about doesn't give a rats ass about him and odds
are would like him to shut up as much as we do. I skimmed over a couple

4130 can't be OA welded? by
wright1902glider
While browsing a bit more of that "good 'ole internet wizdom", I ran
accross this page:
http://www.ihpva.org/com/PracticalInnovations/materials.html
Its a human-powered vehicle website, but on this page, the author
seems to think that 4130 cro-mo steel can't be welded with an oxy-
acetylene...

Harley oil cooler for interior heat. by
[email protected]
I don't have heat inside my canard plane. Now am considering piping
hot engine oil to the cabin through a small oil cooler with a blower.
I am looking at a Harley Dyna oil cooler - about the right size. My
question is whether such a cooler will stand the typical aircraft oil
pressure. My engine oil...

Transporting a dirt bike? by
Bubba[_3_]
I would like to be able to transport a small, motorized bike in or under my
traildragger. It sits high . . . tundra tires (on the plane . . . not the
bike). Has anyone seen some sort of arrangement for slinging some sort of
small two-wheeler underneath. It's too heavy (and bulky) for me to...

engine pre-oiler by
Stuart & Kathryn Fields
I'm thinking about using an electric diesel fuel pump to pressurize my 0320
with engine oil to pre-lube before starting. Have any of you tried that?
The accumulator method is heavier than I want to use.

Installing instruments and avionics in small aircraft by

Heh...heh...
I thought of the same possibility a few months ago.....
We have to allow for the possibility that anyone here may be very
different in real life than our "on line" personalities...
It would not be the first time..
Great entertainment tho....

Engine Cooling - why not.... by
oilsardine[_2_]
Hi,
did a lot of research and thinking about my engine cooling/cowling lately.
It's a conventional VW-Dub powered pusher. There's quite a lot of space
below the engine an very few on top. I want to do a tightly cowled engine
(only the heads and barrels enclosed, not the complete engine under...

Electric airplane - recharged by
Bill Daniels
Take a look at this:
http://www.electronista.com/articles/07/12/19/stanford.nanowire.battery/
OK, it's just a laboratory development and needs to work it's way through
all the R&D to become an actual product. But, an order of magnetude
improvement? WOW!
Of course, as many 'negative experts'...

Engine configuration by
Ron Webb
Yea -- my point was that this is ALMOST a good idea. But not quite.
Lotsa those!
Much better to just use a normal V6 or V8 and a PSRU. Many such that have
gone 2000+ hours.
As for weight and CG, I'd use the V6 STOL as an example. This is a set of
plans done in the '60's by a guy named Blanton....
