4th flight - It wasn't pretty.. by
Steve R.
Hey Kevin,
Thanks for another great write up. Man, you're sure bringing back memories
of those "off" days when I was in my primary training. The frustration is
completely understood. ;-) Just remember, you "might" have another hour or
so of marginal flying and then that day will arrive when it...

Deciding between two schools. by
John
I have become very interested in pursuing a career as a helicopter
pilot.
As i've been looking into schools i've found 2 that are the closest
and both have a goodlooking program.
I was looking for some feedback as to the schools, if they are good,
and which one would be a better choice.

Idiot NBC "Terrorists" arrested at Helicopter Operation by
Vaughn
Last week, NBC News reporters apparently tried and failed to penetrate security
at a helicopter operation at a GA airport. They were planning on writing a
story about how easy it would be to hijack a helicopter and attack America with
it.
Instead, they ended up being hauled away in steel bracelets...

Bell 47 goes down in Muncie, IN by
[email protected]
You shouldn't send binary files to a newsgroup that isn't chartered
for such. Or mime types for that matter.
Contact the emergency authorities that responded to the incident,
ie-fire dept, etc., and tell them you have a video. The FAA will be
in touch with them and they can tell the FAA. If you...

Have you ever seen/made such a flying handcraft? by
Qingpei Hu
Hi, Dear All,
I have alwaying been thinking to make a light, tiny, paper(or some
other light material) butterfly, that could fly with flapping his
wings by some mechanical power engine(like clockwork spring or elasic,
or else).
While I was a child, I liked playing paper-plane very much. I...

Student needs assistance density altitude calcs by
hellothere.adelphia.net
One easy way is to find out the temp at the field you are at. Take the
standard sea level temp of 15C and using the altitude of where you are
at, subtract 2C for every thousand feet. For every 1 degree above
standard, add 120 feet, or 600 feet for every 5C. Add that to the
field altitude. Gives you...

Career Question by
[email protected]
FWIW, I received a BSEE in electrical engineering in 1984, and have been
working in the high tech industry since then. That has allowed me to
Learn How To Fly - starting in 1999. As a result, I have about 130
hours in helicopters and around 240 hours in fixed-wing aircraft, with
an instrument...
