ADS-B why by
Jonathan St. Cloud
I have a PowerFlarm and transponder. Ninety percent of my flying is from the Southern Cal operating areas up through the Sierras and typical operating area out of Minden. So while I do pass through a few more trafficked areas, (Cajon& Banning Pass, Tahoe, Reno...etc) the majority of my flight...

Aerobatic Two Seat Gliders? by
Terry Pitts
There was a recent thread about inexpensive two seat gliders. I made me wonder how crazy I might be.
I'd like to buy a two seat glider that could be used for beginner to intermediate-ish aerobatics. Fun for me, perhaps someone might want to do some aerobatics for a flight review instead of an hour...

Experimental aircraft and towing by
Marc Ramsey
Is it just my imagination, or has the FAA recently obfuscated the FARs
to the point where it is now legal to tow a glider with an aircraft that
has an experimental certificate (but not for hire). Things I noticed
today while poking around:
91.309 now permits towing unpowered ultralight...

Grob 102 Astir CS parts for sale by
[email protected]
If anyone is looking for parts from a Grob 102 Astir CS I have an almost complete although damaged one for sale. The glider suffered a slow speed ground-loop right at take off and went skidding sideways twisting the fuselage and splitting it open down the construction seam. However the wings...

Looking for ballast bags PIK-20 USA by
Wit Wisniewski
Hello folks,
My PIK-20B bags need replacing. Does anyone have suitable bags for sale?
- I am considering manufacture and have contacted Guy Achard / Airsolid. Are there any other fabricators?
- The 20B is allowed to carry 140 Liters, but the bag drawing on trafi.fi show a bag labeled 60L. Why...

Hi,
Does anyone have a DG300 logo in format usable for print? Vector or PDF etc? I need to restore it on our glider and cannot find one via Google.

Just What You Would Expect by
Dan Marotta
After a week of flat skies here in NM, I handed my Stemme over for its
annual inspection. So when I looked out the window this morning, what
did I see? Why standing lenticular clouds, of course! Oh well...
There will be more wave days before spring.

Becker AR3201 Squelch by

I'm having similar squelch issues as the Dittel post with my Becker AR3201. Which direction do you adjust the squelch to reduce noise? Manual shows where the adjustment is located but does not explain adjustments.

Gapa Geezer would be proud by

Today I think I set career highs and lows. Highest circling percentage that I can remember associated (naturally) with probably the lowest average climb rate of a cross country flight I have ever flown. SeeYou says 63% circling and .7 knots average.

Average OLC flown distance by glider by
Jacopo Romei
Hello everybody,
as a newbie, I often find myself wondering
- how far a specific glider can be pushed
- how far a specific glider can be pushed by *its* average pilot
The second point is very important because, as obvious as it may sound, no glider "gets there" alone and it surely must be matched...
