Looking for helicopter flight training (and advice) - Sacramento now, and moving to Phoenix next year by JonTheRookie
Ok, I'm one of those people who has always dreamed of becoming a pilot and always thought "Nah that's not realistic, I need to get a job at a boring company and sit in a Cube all day staring at a computer screen". So 5 long years have gone by and now I'm actually realizing that I should have...

rates for R44 news copter? by joe
Lottery money still burning a hole in my pockets...... I was wondering what I could expect to get hourly from a TV station for an R44 ENG news copter. A station here is looking into contracting a helicopter for 10-15 hrs a month and I thought "Mmmm, maybe a way to get someone else to pay for my...

Long Island Crash - Kite String? by Neb Okla
Witnesses reported seeing kite string wrapped around the heli. http://news12.com/LI/topstories/article?id=118790 Could that even cause a heli to crash? I'd think that a kite string would be easily broken... and even if it did wrap around a control area, I'd think that the helicopter would have...

The "Whirl": More Efficient Rotary Craft? by sanman
Here's something I was reading: http://www.newscientist.com/news/news.jsp?id=ns99996380 So beyond the mere claim of being more efficient, why would it actually be so? The claim of hovering for 4 days is quite a jump, when compared to Global Hawk. Is this even vaguely realistic?

Opinions wanted on UK integrated CPL(H) courses by Simon Robbins
Hi, Is there anyone out there who can recommend any UK integrated JAR CPL(H) courses? I've checked out Cabair and the only other school set-up I know of is Oxford Aviation Training who I've yet to check out in person. Currently my options are to jump in with both feet, sell up and do a year...

New Rotorhub Invention: by Dave Jackson
The link http://www.SynchroLite.com/1377.html is to a web page that describes a new style of rotorhub. This hub should offer significant flight-control and aerodynamic advantages over existing rotorhubs. In addition, it will be very inexpensive to build. It should be of special interest to those...

Turbine PIC time at Group3 for $135? by Jacob Burnetski
Has anyone tried the program at Group3 that allows you to build PIC time in a 206? I found it when I was looking for a transition course, and it just seems too good to be true. $135 for 206 time? http://www.group3aviation.com/site/helitrain/pic/bottom.html I'd be interested to hear from anyone...
