A friend of mine has come into possession of the personal career artifacts
of Colonel (Retired) Rene "Rambo" Goldberger. I've been authorized to spread
the word to see if anyone is interested in any parts of this
collection...located in Langley, B.C., Canada. I just viewed what he has,

WWII Fighter Bombers by
zxcv
Would a fighter plane (say a P-51 or P-40 for example) that was on mission
to drop some tactgical bombs and encountered some any fighters generally
drop its bombs before engaging the enemy? or just try to run away? or fight
with them still hanging on (sounds pretty dangerous to me with the...

comparative cost of American aircraft in WW2 by
zxcv
Anybody know where I can get data on the comparative cost of American WW2
aircraft (during the war), especially P-38, P-51, F4U, F6F, P-40, B-17?
Similar data for British planes would also be appreciated.

Hiroshima/Nagasaki vs conventional B-17 bombing by
zxcv
Since the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs were about 10 kilotons and a B-17 had
a normal bomb load of about 3 tons and I have heard of a formation of 1300
B-17's on a bomb run that would equal around 4 kilotons (3 x 1300 = 3900)
would the devastation be the same as a small A-bomb? or is there...

P-51's in movie "Empire of the Sun" by
zxcv
I was watching "Empire of the Sun" the other night and near the end some
P-51's attack the Japanese base. What struck me was that the P-51's were
flying in just a few feet above the ground and dropping their bombs. Would
this really have been done? How did the planes keep from blowing...

service ceiling of F-22 by
zxcv
I have seen descriptions of the F-22 having a service ceiling of 50,000 feet
which is 13,000 less than I have seen for the F-15. I thought the F-22 was
much more advanced.in every way except perhaps top speed. How can the F-22
be the air supieriority fighter of the future when its predessor can...

B-17 forward guin positions by
zxcv
It looks to me like the B-17 had more forward guns than people to fire them.
According to my count there were two men in the forward compartment
(bombadier and navigator).
Looking at pictures of the B-17F Memphis Belle I see four guns, each in a
separate loophole in the nose of the plane.
Looking...

WWII 20mm cannon in planes by
zxcv
It seems to me that the Germans and Japanese had a lot more cannon in their
planes than the Americans who seemed to rely almost totally on .50 machine
guns.
Why was that? What was the rate of fire or the 20mm cannons and what type
of projectiles did they fire?

~ LITTLE HITLER ~
We have been down this road before.
U.S. troops sent to war half a world away. American foreign policy
controlled by an arrogant elite, bent on projecting military power
around the globe. A public misled into supporting an unconstitutional
war founded on deceit and fabrications.
As the death toll...
