Getting [re]started in flying by
Cal Vanize
30+ years ago (a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away) I was an
active pilot in my early 20s. I held a CASMELI, CFI and CGI A&I
tickets. Had 1100+ hours PIC mostly in single engine with about 4o0 or
so in light twins. Circumstances in life (not medical) changed my
direction and I...

Mass Production of Aircraft by
[email protected]
We could have inexpensive aircraft. They do not violate the laws of
physics. However it probablly does violate laws of human nature.
You must have, first, a large potential market. Consider: Wichita.
In the benighted Kingdom of Sedgwick, no one flies. The overwhelming
vast majority of aircraft...

Things to do along the way...or when I get there! by
[email protected]
Do any of you know of a good website to search for good places to fly
and fun things for pilots to do? I'm not just looking for $100
hamburgers, although that's welcome, I'd like more things like aviation
museums and picnic grounds. Any recommendations?
Thanks!

Knowlwdge test Sign offs by
[email protected]
Just been checking the latest FAA knowledge testing requirement matrix
to see what the sign off requirements are for the instructors tests.
I was surprised to see that non off them require any formal sign off,
even the FOI.
So it is a case of turning up at the test center on day and cracking
out...

Hi,
I'm an European guy, traveling to the States in June this year. Touch Down

Zion, and then heading back for SF via Las vegas and Bakerfield.
As a student pilot, I want to buy some pilots stuff such as a Headset(DC),
pilot...

Boeing to cease 757 production by
Capt. Doug
There was a one paragraph blurb in the business section this morning that
Boeing will shutdown the 757 production line late next year. Is the
Dreamliner to be the replacement in the product line? I didn't think the
Dreamliner would be certified that soon.

Convair NX-2? by
Capt. Doug
I was thumbimg through an aviation book catalog while waiting for a flight
today and saw a blurb about a book about the NX-2. Apparently Convair
designed it with the intention of using a nuclear reactor for thrust. Has
anyone read the book? How far did Convair and General Electric actually get
in...

Toks Desalu wrote in message Can you believe this?
I studied regulation back in college and don't remember any specific
regulation that said the hand must be at control at all time. Anybody can
point it out?
Why they really want to make us look bad?
The airplane was a DHC-6 Twin Otter...

Fisk is "coming soon"
Warbirds holding over "warbird island", landing them on the dots,
sequencing flights of RV's with AT-6 formations. "Cessna over the lake rock
your wings"... Great stuff.
