Doug Palmer
Which Epoxys have folks had success using for their fuel tanks? I know that
they don't sell true safety-poxy anymore, has anything taken its place?
This is for auxillary tanks that will only ever have avgas in them . I have
used vinyl-ester for other fuel tank projects but was wondering what in...

Hilsch Tube for Cabin Temp control... by
EridanMan
Hey Guys-
Has anyone ever attempted to install a Hilsch Tube (Vortex Tube) in an
aircraft for environmental controls?
The setup I see would be very light, a 3 foot long PVC vortex tube (no
more than 5 lbs) with a small exhaust turbocharger force-feeding it.
Yes the Hilsch tube is not a...

Tapered Wings and North-Paw Saws by
[email protected]
Cutting a long taper in aluminum bar or angle stock is always something
of a chore. Not because it's a chore-type chore - - the work goes
quickly enough - - but because we don't do it very often and have to
get things set up for the job.
After sawing the taper you sand away the saw marks then...

Dissimilar metals in fuel tank by
Lou
I'm in the process of building my fuel tanks. On the insiide I was
going to have stainless steel bolts going through the tank to hold to
an aluminum bracket. I really don't know much about the metal industry
but do remember that there can be a problem with dissimilar metals. Do
anyone know if this...

Smith Miniplane by
Chuck
I built one of these way back in '60-'63. Cost me all of 1165 dollars
including an Conti A-75 and 2 props ( one climb and one cruise).
Had to sell it when I was transferred. Got 800 bucks for it and
considered myself lucky.
Just wondering if there is anybody in the southeast US who might
have one...

economy cruise rotax 912 by
DavidH
If the engine temps are in the operating range is there any concern
about running a Rotax 912UL for prolonged periods at 4000RPM or lower?
What fuel consumption can one expect at that rate?
I understand that max fuel economy and max range are likely to be
achieved at just above the best glide...
