Automated Assisted Flight System by
James Long
I'm seeking a plane owner who would be interested in a system to act like
AFCS on passenger jets.
This system has GPS incorporated along with a touch screen, and a LCD read
out that provides system status information. The plane that receives this
should have some type of 12 volt charging system....

sliding wings? by
[email protected]
when I look at my eyeglass case, I see two closely overlapping
wing-type shapes that are being pulled apart for opening.
why would it not be worthwhile to extend wings this way for landing and
departure?

Conserving fuel on 4 engine planes? by
Chief McGee
Just watching a movie with a 4 engine prop plane running out of fuel over
the ocean. So what would be the best way to conserve fuel. I'm thinking
throttle back all four engines and let them loaf along. Or would you cut
two engines and let two carry the load. Two would have to work harder,...

Roadable Rotorcraft by
Ed Sullivan
I have learned a few things about the roadable rotorcraft mentioned in
an earlier post. One of our chapter members is building a Butterfly,
same company, and has seen the motorcycle/rotorcraft perform.
The prop does not propel it on the ground. It has a chain drive to the
wheels. Also he has...

GS indicator circuit-Jim Weir? by
Fonz
This question is mainly aimed at Jim Weir, but others are more than welcome
to give their 2c.
With the aero-lectrics column in kitplanes, a GS tester has just been
completed.
My question. How hard would it be to make a GS indicator, with say LEDs
instead of lines and needles. For example, when...

What am I gonna get if I ask for a pre-purchase inspection? by
mhorowit
I know that if I ask an IA to do an annual, there are standards to
which he must adhere.
If I ask for a pre-purchase inspection, what am I getting? Am I correct
that unless I specify what to look for I am entirely at the mercy of
his level of experience AND his level of enthusiasm at that moment?...

Flying on the Cheap - Instruments by

To All:
Recently a fellow discovered my post about flying on the cheap (Oct
2001) and got so excited he had to give me a call. Although he
wasn't quite ready to begin building, my article convinced him to
take the plunge. As his first step toward building an inexpensive
flying machine he'd ...
