City Airport Problem by
Dick
Wondering how many others have had this problem with a city-run airport.
City gets new insurance carrier and conducts a hanger inspection including
various "code enforcement" types.
Per letter to each renter, violations seem to be of three types:
1) Valid such as temporary, non-code wiring, out...

engine choices by
Tater Schuld
I saw one post about evinrude marine motors being used for aircraft, and
issues due to water cooling.
has there been other engines that have been used? say snomobile engines? A
freind of mine has a evinrude snomobile engine that he thinks might work. I
think otherwise

Almost on topic... by
Richard Lamb
Still not Industrial Light and Magic, but a first step, anyway.
3D San Antonio sectional rendered on a rotating sphere.
aka: what cowboy astronauts think the world looks like.
Some people are already wondering, "Why? Why would anybody do that?"
Well, that's an interesting question.

Turning on the Light by
[email protected]
Everyone's born with a light bulb hanging in the air over their heads,
just like in the cartoons. Except it's not on. That's our normal
state, fumbling our way through life mostly in the dark. What turns on
the bulb is knowledge -- the stuff you know. Not money. You can spend
a ton of money...

How many Lycomings built? by
Ben Hallert
Hi all!
Quick question, haven't been able to find the answer. Roughly how many
GA piston Lycomings have been built? Within a few hundred thousand, at
least, but the number doesn't have to be exact. I'd like to compare
how many were made versus how many wankel rotary engines, just as a
data...

Radio / microphone question. by
Bruce
Hi All
I have a King KY195B TSO radio. It uses a Telex 66T , amplified dynamic Microphone.
It works well, but I want to change the microphone to a boom mic. (This is in a

The question is whether an electret mic will work.
Any suggestions?

Sell Google Stocks before they crash! by
Wallstreet-Cockpit
Dear Traders,
One thing is fore sure, good value stocks will never fall like Amazon.com or Yahoo! during the perfect storm of the internet hype.

Keeping a builders log by
Lou
Ok, I've been building my plane for the last 2 years. A wood and fabric
plans built.
I purchased the raw material and milled everything myself. Up until
recently I've
kept a buiders log on everything I have made, built, and glued.
Question. Do I need to log every minute? There are days after days...

Wooden Notes by
[email protected]
To All:
The low cost and wide availability of wood in America makes it a good
choice for the budget-minded builder of simple flying machines. The
only problem is that when picking the stacks at the local lumber yard
you need to know a fair amount about wood in order to select the most
suitable...
