Owner responsibility by Jonathan Goodish
In article , "Ric Barker" wrote: When they find what caused the crash, and they usually do, I know who's gonna carry the can, it won't be the pilot/owner. The FAA hand out the certificates. If an A&P has a ticket then according to the...

KLN-89B GPS xponder compatibility by Victor
I have installed a KLN-89B installed but the altitude comming from the xponder is not working. The xponder is an old Narco AT50. I wonder if other pilots have another model of xponder installed that actually interfaces with the GPS.

Toks Desalu wrote in message Can you believe this? I studied regulation back in college and don't remember any specific regulation that said the hand must be at control at all time. Anybody can point it out? Why they really want to make us look bad? The airplane was a DHC-6 Twin Otter...

Wanted clever PA32 engineer's thoughts - Gear extention problem on Piper Lance by [email protected]
Others may be able to give more knowledgeable advise, but I am somewhat familiar with the gear system on the PA28R, and I believe the system on the PA32R is similar. As I see it, you have expressed two problems. The first is that the gear won't extend reliably with the normal hydraulic activation...

Static in KX-165A by Chad Lemmen
I have two KX-165A nav/coms in my Cessna 320F and static can be heard through the headsets from both of these radios. The static is not noticeable while flying, but can be heard during taxi. It can also be heard with both engines off and all circuit breakers pulled except the radio circuit...

Bendix King's worthless GPS loader software by Ryan Ferguson
Okay, it's not actually totally worthless, because I DID manage to update my KLN-94 GPS database via an internet download and the gps loader software available on the bendixking.com website. But it's kinda close to worthless in my opinion. First, I have to comment and say that the Bendix King...

Davis Clark ISOCOM pinouts by Wayne
Working on a 172 with an ISOCOM panel mount intercom. There are no jacks on the rear seats. Anyone have the pinouts for the unit? I've never got to see the instructions for an intercom and wondered how they are wired so the PTT only works for the guy that pushes the button. I assume that the...

Garmin G1000 by Foster
Interesting: In the current issue of Flying, on page 40 there is a small article about Diamond selecting the Garmin G1000 for the Twin Star. But Garmin has not yet announced a G1000. Appears somebody goofed on timing their press releases. JJF

Aircraft Designations by David Townend
The second printing of "Military Aircraft Designations and Systems" is still available. We were out of print soon after our October 2002 printing so it is good to have copies available again. We are also able to hold the original price, too. Military Aircraft designations catalogued from 1913 to...

I'm not having much luck finding an interesting bird in Tucson, so I thought I would go fishing: Commercially rated pilot with 30 years flying experience desires partnership in an aircraft such as a well cared for C-172N, Grumman Tiger, Piper Archer etc. Prefer basing at Marana North West. If...
