Aux. Audio Input by
Eugene Wendland
Does anyone know what the AUX. AUDIO INPUT pin is used for on a comm. I'm
trying to chase down a problem with my two comms. I have a switch to
flip-flop between the two comms. Everything checks out good on the switch.
However, I'm receiving on both comms. I also have a toggle to turn on an

Narco 120 replacement/TKM 11x of ICOM A200 by
Jerry Springer
Jay why don't you quit crossposting? When you cross post as you do, it just
dilutes each NG.

Can you just slide the ICOM into the Narco tray? If not, you'll quickly

Aerocat at Oshkosh by
randall g
Did anyone check out the Aerocat kitplane at Oshkosh? It's a 4-place
amphibious twin with detachable floats.
The company website is www.creativeflight.com
I would love to see some pictures or hear your thoughts on what seems to
be a remarkable design. I am not associated with them, but I...

Narco com 11A help please by
WhiteKnuckles
Hi All,
I bought the above radio on Ebay for the ultralight that I am building.
Anyway, I'm hoping that I didn't do anything dumb in choosing this older
radio. I didn't receive any pin out information from the guy that sold it to
me, and I'm assuming that he just plugged a newer set into the...

An odd thing about CAD... by
[email protected]
(aside from blank messages :-)
I use DeltaCAD, a simple 2D replacement for the traditional T-square
and triangles, to make patterns for parts, from a 56" rib to itty-bitty
things for home-made clocks, tiny steam engines and similar stuff. And
I talk about it, too. If you hope to share...

McCullough Two-Stroke Relaibility by
Gordon Arnaut
I heard someone here not too long ago mention a reliability problem with the
old McCullough two-strokes as used in the drone aircraft.
The same person also mentioned that there are modifications to address those
problems.
I wonder if that poster could jump in and give me the scoop on that. I...

Cygnet questions by
Detroit Dolza
Hi -
I've been scoping out the cygnet as a good 1st plane to build, and I'm wondering if someone has talked to anyone who's made, is making, or owns one. The plans seems scarce so far. No one at Viking has returned my calls but, they may just be on vacation.
AviationBanter seems to be about the...

Zink Chromate Paste by

Duralac Zinc Chromate Paste doesn't appear in the Spruce or Wick
catalog, apparently for health reasons.
I do see it mentioned for sale by marine stores.
Has anyone using an acceptable substitute, easier to locate? - MIke

150 HP Grumman Super Yankee FS by
Bill Berle
FIRST, My ebay auction is getting very close to the reserve price. There are
two days left. I anticipate having a successful auction. Again, this is a
pretty nice plane, and will make someone a great little sportplane that
lives up to the "poor man's RV-6" legend. With a set of DMA's new...

CBS News- Small Airport Security 1/14 Wed by
RDA
Dan Rather/ CBS Evening News is advertising a sensational news story about
small airport security, or, as the advertisement implies, the serious lack
of it.
Typical tag line: "What we found out will surprise you!"
Ok...prepare to be surprised...and gutted...and vivisectioned...only as the

Thoughts on handheld Aviation radios (ICOM vs Vertex-Standard) by
Barnyard BOb -
WallMart has Eveready NiMH 2300 cells, about 11 bucks for 4. I don't think
that is expensive, for how many charges you can get out of them. And you
are right, they kick alkaline's As* ! :-)
I bought an 8 pack from Wally World for appx $17 about 2 weeks ago.
FYI.... The previous versions...

Right wing extremist large aircraft threaten our lives... by

There's a big deal being made about DHS issuing a warning profiling pretty
much anyone who desires smaller federal government. I was reading some of
the angry blogs and found an interesting tie-in to aviation. On the
following web site, there is a link to a video about mid-page titled "Janet...

EAA Board Of Directors (Here We Go Again) by

I sort of feel like the Harold Stassen of the EAA election process, but here
we go again.
In 1997, I ran for the EAA Board Of Directors and got some 700 of you to
email me your proxies. The vote was 700 to 35,000 for the proxies that EAA
held for the current board member candidate. (I ran in...

Cutting sheet steel by

I've got some .035 4130 that I have to cut elevon ribs from. 2 inch on
one end, 3/8ths on the other and about 16" long (each one is a different
length). The small end fits against a run of tube, the thick end against
the elevon spar. Both ends have to be shaped appropriately. The sides
