Cope India 2004 by
Dionysios Pilarinos
I just read a brief news report about DACT between USAF F-15's (from
Elmendorf Alaska) and Indian Su-30's and Mirage 2000's. This transpired for
10 days starting on February 25 at Gwalior, India in an exercise named "Cope
India 04". The report states that this is the first US-Indian joint...

Kinda funny... by
Ditch
Here is something I picked up from another usenet group.
1. Go to www.google.com
2. do a search for "weapons of mass destruction" (no quotations"
3. hit the "I feel lucky" button.
4. read the error page.
Just to let all of you know, I am not against our troops over there. I just
thought think the...

Russian Arms (in Nizhniy Tagil) by
Dmitrij
Hello everybody !
I need your advice:
Several years ago I lived in South Altai (East Kazakhstan).
My friends and I organized eco- and adventure tours about South Altai.
Today many people all over the world who are fond of eco- tourism know
Altai mountains.
You can see more on...

F/A-18 E-F Stores by
Don Harstad
Sorry if this has been covered before, but if so, I missed it.
Why do the underwing stores of the F/A-18E and F toe outward? Is it a
clearance problem, or a separation problem, or...?
Thank you.

Oxnard AFB and F-107 Hulk by
Don Harstad
I visited Oxnard AFB around 1965, and saw a hulk near the perimeter fence.
It appeared to be the remains of a North American F-107, by virtue of the
intake above the cockpit. It was resting on it's belly, no wings that I can
recollect. I took a photo which I have misplaced.
Does anyone have any...

F-104 in Viet Nam Question by
Don Harstad
Just got a new magazine today, and there a fine article about the F-104 in
Viet Nam. I do have a question: If they needed to carry both drop tanks
and Sidewinders, did they prefer the Sidewinders be on the wingtip rails?
If so, then were the tanks carried under-wing? The only photo they...

Thunderbirds doco - pixellated bits by
Don Mackie
Watching a Discovery channel documentary abut US aerobatic team The
Thunderbirds I was interested to see that the pilots' pre-take off hand
gestures were pixellated out. I thought these were either salutes, or
'thumbs up', or 'after you' signs. What about them could have got them
pixellated -...

Bankrupt, starving Zimbabwe orders Chinese fighters by
[email protected]
Military sources in Harare say that Zimbabwe will acquire 12 FC-1s as
replacements for the Chengdu F-7s, currently based in Gweru. The FC-1, a
lightweight multipurpose fighter based on Russia's MiG-33, will provide a
credible answer to the challenge posed by the 28 JAS-39 Gripen multi-role
fighters...
