garmin + see you software by
Willie G
I am interested in the garmin iqM5 as it has a GPS
receiver built in. Is anyone out there using one of
these in their glider?
If so, how is the screen on it? okay on daylight?
I guess it would be compatible with "see you"
software to make a portable solution.

SeeYou 3.0 by
iPilot
FYI
Just spotted appearance of the new version in www.seeyou.ws
Regards,
Kaido
imho a bit of dissapointing update. Still missing the GPS_LOG task/waypoint
export feature which is the most wished for feature in wish list (at least I
didn't spot that-one appearing in help file).

water balast? by
JohnWN in Burke, VA
I have only flown as a passenger once in a sailplane, and thus, will ask the
obvious question. Is water blast used in temperatures where it is likely to
freeze? If so, what is done to prevent this?
Thanks ...john

RESTRICTED CATEGORY TOWPLANES by
Bob Korves
Judy,
Help me to understand the FAA legalese here. We have Pawnees that are in
Restricted Category and say 'Glider towing' on the Airworthiness
Certificate. Does this change mean that we no longer need to consider going
to Normal Category to placate the FAA?

1-26 Dimension Needed by
Mark Zivley
The trailer configuration for our club's 1-26 uses a steel tube that is
passed through the aft wing attach recepticals. This tube keeps the
fuse stable on the trailer. Anyone know off hand what the largest "off
the shelf" diameter tubing will go through that aft wing pass through?
No, I wasn't...

parachutes for szd pilots? by
LAS
Can anyone who's about 5'9", 175 to 200 lbs and with a 30" inseam offer me
any guidance as to what make and model of chute might suit me in the Jantar
series? Headroom and getting closer to the instrument panel are, of course,
big issues in this series.

"Winching in the evening" [movie] by
Peter Millenaar
I noticed one thing: The ASK-21 in your video has "braces" (Dunno
what they
are properly called) inside the canopy that those of my future club
don't
seem to have:

For Sale: LX160 by
Paul Remde
Hi,
I just learned that the LX Navigation LX160 has been replaced with the new
LX160si. The new model offers very easy connection for a Colibri and a
Pocket PC. It also provides 5V power (2A) for the Pocket PC. The original
LX160 did not have that ability.
I purchased an original LX160 for my...

US source for wheel on the tongue of Cobra trailer? by
Mark Zivley
The wheel on our Cobra trailer is no longer in "as new" condition. It's
about 8.5" diameter and has about a 3/4" shaft. Has anyone sourced a
replacement in the U.S. that they can recommend?
Thanks,
Mark

ELT's by
Brad
My guess is that the fatalities we saw last season are the reason ELT's
are being considered. Making contest pilots use them is the logical
first step, very clever.
I sat in the local airport restaurant for over 2 hours coordiating with
the local Police and SAR folks last spring, we were pretty...

FAR question by
Roger Worden
Part 61.39(a)(6) requires training time within 60 days of the application,
in preparation for the practical test. Is there one that says how much time
or how many flights are required? An instructor said yes but did not know
how much and could not find a specific part.
Thanks.
