Does anyone know the mathematical equation to work out the "drift

Thanks in advance

Looking for a Timer by
Kyle Boatright
I'm looking for a timer with a specific functionality. I want to be able to
set the thing to turn on an electrical appliance at a set time, then turn it
off after a selectible time. I don't want the thing to come on again until
I tell it to. Not one day later or 7 days later. The application is...

Proper Torque for Fuel Fittings by
Steve Waltner
I'm to the point of installing the fuel fittings on the fuel tanks on
my RV-8A project. I'm a little confused about what torque to set my
wrench at when installing the fitting.
The fitting that goes through the tank rib and 3/16" reinforcement
plate is an AN833-6D elbow with an AN924-6D nut on the...

painted airtight window screen as a "surface" by
Allan Morrison
Anybody tried to use painted airtight windowscreen(fiberglass or
nylon?)as a flat surface covering material?
I have looked at (via google) various aircraft covering materials(some
brandname)and am not impressed with their costs, their "painting"
requirements (labor+++), their mechanical toughness...

Introduction by
LCT Paintball
Hi guys. I've been lurking for a day or two and I wanted to introduce
myself.
I've wanted to learn how to fly since before I could drive. Unfortunately,
I've never had enough extra money laying around to get me into the air. I
understand the air of flying, but I don't believe in it. All it really...

What Others Are Saying About Aircraft Spruce by
jls
Just a sampling. There's volumes more in Google, enough to make a stout
hog retch:
Amen to HBW's comments. I've had the same problems with Spruce;
screwed up orders and no one who gives a damn. The fact that they got
so big so quickly is not an excuse for ****ty service. Unfortunately,
they...

Pocket protecters? by
Morgans
Here's a weird one. Anyone know if pocket protectors are still available,
and if so, where? Hopefully somewhere not involving mail order.
Seems strange, that I would think about something that so many have made fun
of, but I'm sick and tired of pencils and stuff falling out of my shirt
pocket,...

2005 RAH Flyin at Pinckneyville goof correction by

Can somebody please enlighten me as to how and why Pinckneyville came to be
the home of the annual RAH Flyin? We're trying to do a profile on PJY and
the fly-in in particular, for Flyguides and AOPA's Postcards online. I
checked the FAQs but couldn't find what I was looking for. Anybody out...

Spark plug question for Archie by
John S
Archie, I'd be interested in what you think about using an automotive
harness and plugs for an O-360 with dual electronic ignition (EMAG/PMAG). I
read in Aircraft Spruce & Specialty that Klaus Savier (Light Speed
Engineering) recommends adapters to convert 18mm spark plug holes to 14mm
for use of...

Bank/turn indicator instrument question by

I'm considering ripping the curved tube out of an aircraft bank
indicator to use an inclinometer (or clinometer) on a bicycle.
There's a bicycle bubble level on the market but I don't think it's a
good design.
My question is, on aircraft bank indicators, why do they look like they
are about 6"...

Dragging home a damaged airplane... by
Blueskies
Has anyone here put a plane on a trailer and brought it home? I found an old Cardinal that I want to salvage parts from,
but I would need to tow it miles and miles to get it home. Any suggestions about type of trailer, methods of tiedown,
etc. The wings and tail are already removed...
Thanks!

why isn't there composite tube fuselage design? by
Shin Gou
I am just wondering...if composite materials are stronger and lighter
than steel, why composites tubes aren't glued together to form the
fuselage frame just like the traditional 4103 steel tubes being welded
together? Any reasons?
