Difficult Strips by
C J Campbell
It is all relative. A 5000 foot paved runway that is 150 feet wide can be
challenging to a 747 pilot.

Collision in New Jersey by
Mark Astley
The 150 was indeed from Caldwell and the PA28 was from Lincoln Park.
The reporting on this one has been pretty lousy so far, both from
aviation and non-aviation sources. Initially, someone from the FAA
reported that there were five fatalities, with one survivor apparently
trapped in the 150. That...

crash in the rockies? by
dave
Sorry I don't know more. A friend of mine's business partner lost his
brother and another passenger in a crash in the rockies. Only the two
of them were on board. I'm told it happened within the last few days.
Sounds like they flew into terrain at 11,000'. The pilot was in his
early thirties. ...

Golf Cart Tugs by
Ashton
Does anyone have any experience towing their airplane with a golf cart? I'm
thinking about mounting a ball on the front of a golf cart to move my
Bonanza in and out of the hangar.
Many thanks.

Taxi instructions by
Richard Russell
Went to RDG the other day because it had been too long since I went to
a towered field and I needed the radio practice. I was directed to
fly right base to 36 and landed uneventfully. Upon landing, the tower
asked my intentions. I told them that I would like to taxi back for
take-off and...

Good Stories about Plane Purchases by
Jon Kraus
I am looking into purchasing my own plane... I think that I am pretty
aware of the costs (as much as a non-owner can be). I would like to
hear from those of you who have had a good experience with a plane
purchase. I have the bad experience posts also. My guess is that the
good will outweigh the...

Winds can be high through the pass, from the west. Expect lower groundspeed.
Oh yes, keep your head on a swivel!
It should be a good flight!

GA Life near Manhattan by
Marty Ross
I'll be moving to Manhattan from Los Angeles (does it get any more extreme?)
next month.
Any advice or relevant anecdotes out there to help me gather some leads
about continuing my flying hobby from there? I've been renting (in L.A.) -
usually from the FBO where I did my training.
I'm IFR rated...

I just had the strange experience of reading two books that discuss events I

alone two, in which I had my own index entry with several pages listed.
If you like good sea stories, you might enjoy these books which discuss...

Jim,
some things I think are missing from the AvMap which, I believe, the
2000c and the Garmin have:
- international database option
- land navigation with turn-by-turn voice instruction
- sea mode

Authorizing CFIs for a club by

I'm looking for issues involved with a private flying club allowing CFIs
to instruct in its planes.
If the club just contracts with an FBO to provide instruction, than I
suppose this is a moot point, as the FBO takes responsibility. But what
if a club member CFI wants to provide instruction? ...
