U-2 conversion thoughts by
Martin Gregorie[_5_]
A friend reminded me, again, about the films of rookies landing U-2s and
not knowing to do with the rudder on roll-out or (in some cases) the need
keep the wings level as long as possible.
This reminded me that both are things all glider pilots understand and,
by extrapolation, to wonder why...

No Love for the Uvalde 2012 World Championship? by
Scott Alexander[_2_]
From what I am told there is no love from anyone to video tape the
world championship this year in Uvalde. If that's the case, I am very
dissapointed.
Can anyone who is "in the know" chip in their 2 cents on whether or
not something's in the works?
I will be thrilled if there is actually someone...

Becker AR4201 Low Voltage Warning by
Papa3[_2_]
According to the Becker manual, the 4201 Low Voltage warning (blinking of the display) kicks in when the supply voltage drops to 10.5. I'm wondering if anyone has had a reason to independently check this out for accuracy. Reason for the question is that my Becker seems to be indicating low...

Big thanks to Richard at Craggy Aero by
Bruce Barnard[_2_]
After struggling for 3 weeks to get expensive new instruments working
that 3 of us bought from his competitor, Richard solved the problem in
less than 10 minutes. The dealer I bought from and both manufactures
could not get things working after dozens of emails, photos, calls,
videos, and...

Repairing CAI-302 by
Dan Marotta
Today the needle fell off its perch in my CAI-302. It looks like a simple
drop or two of super glue would set the world straight.
Does anyone know if it's possible to remove the glass to replace the needle
without violating the seal on the unit? I've got it out of the panel and
will ship it...

Libelle Canopy by
Tom Watson
I have come across what appears to be a Libelle canopy, minus the
frame. It is in very good condition, with the only flaws being cracks
about 3/4" or less radiating from two frame mounting holes. My
question is, did the 301's and 201's use the same canopy? If not, how
do you tell them apart? Who...

Typo in Battery Test Article in Soaring by
JohnDeRosa
Well heck. A typo crept into my "Battery Test" article in the
February issue Soaring. So for those checking my math in footnote #1,
this is how it should have read;
"1A is the nominal current draw at 12Vdc (12W). When the
battery voltage drops below 12Vdc, the current draw is lower. ...

Glider Paint Question by
km
Dear Group,
I was talking to a paint guy who paints airplanes. He is going to
paint my glider in PU or AU (After I do all the prep work of course).
He ask if I would like to use a clear coat. Someone else with an
aviation background ask if a clear coat would work better than a
single stage. I know...

Seattle Class B changes? by

I have a report that recent changes in Seattle's Class B are not

Stolen EB-28 ever found? by

Back in December of 2007, an EB-28 was reported stolen in the U.K.
The post stated the trailer was found and the fuselage had been cut in
half, with the cockpit and self-launching engine taken by the thieves.
I just ran across this...

FS Zaon MRX Collision Avoidance by
bumper[_4_]
No longer need this excellent and small PCAS as its functions are
included in the PowerFlarm I've just installed.
IMO, no question the PF is the best answer for practical collision
avoidance in gliders. But if for whatever reason you won't be buying
one, then this Zaon MRX is the next best thing...
