SeeYou 3-D View with Mac by [email protected]
I love my MacBook Pro (OSX 10.9.5) and SeeYou (6.17) running in Windows emulator VM Fusion (6.0.5), but I've never been able to get natural looking terrain in 3-D mode, either running the animation or stopped. I have both vector and raster maps installed for the areas of my flight traces - the 2-D...

looking for a Discus by [email protected]
Hi all, I am looking for a Discus B or CS to buy. I'm familiar with the current listings on W&W and want to beat the bushes a bit to see what else might be available. I'm in east TN and hoping to find something within a reasonable distance (i.e., 10ish hour drive), and not looking for a project...

Gliding International Article by [email protected]
In the most recent edition there is an article focused on the newer wing-fuselage junction designs. On page 5 there is a picture of a sort of gull wing design at the root and its identified as an Mu 31. On the following page there are three more pics of an Mu 31 that, to my eye, look nothing like...

GOOD READING FOR THE YEW HEAR by Dan Marotta
Here we go with "compulsory" again. When will the safety nazis get out of soaring and let those of us be who enjoy the sport without the constant whining of the pussies who don't feel "safe" without some electronic gizmo to lead them down the shining path. I saw on the news last night about...

ASW-20 fixed panel gas strut. by Sean Eckstein
I ordered a gas strut for a fixed panel ASW-20, the new 700N strut does not fit. The new strut has a shorter distance from the bolt hole to the shoulder of the cylinder. Any suggestion where I can get one that fits. Thank You, Sean

Just filled out and submitted the 2012 SSA Pilot survey. The first time I clicked on the 'Submit' button, a message was displayed that said my submission was NOT recorded, which freaked me out a bit. Fortunately there was a link in the error message that took me back to the survey form, and a...

SSA on the Road...Literally by Chip Bearden[_2_]
Like many in the competition community, I'd occasionally been critical of the SSA staff in the past not so much for not understanding what we competition pilots do (sometimes it doesn't even make sense to me) but for their apparent lack of interest even when we had contests across the road from SSA...

What am I looking for? by Mike McCarron
I had an ASW-24 for some 10 years but the landing flaps on the ASW-27B take my breath away. Truly powerful and make my all too frequent outlandings less exciting. For that I am grateful. But I would defer to UH since he has owned both with more time than I.
