Jim Logajan
Saw this mentioned under the thread "The 5430 mile long TFR" on the Van's
Airforce website:

Here's the first 2 paragraphs of the AP story:

"Urgent Wind Chill Advisory" by
Jay Honeck
We (in the upper Midwest) are in the grips of some cold weather right
now. This is not surprising, since the last week of January is
statistically the coldest week of the year.
Despite this commonly known fact, the National Weather Service has
felt compelled to issue a urgent "Winter Weather...

"Why was a plane able to fly over New York?" by
Emily
Front page of Yahoo right now, followed by, "A tragic small plane crash
brings to light a surprising fact."
It's truly saddening that everyone seems to be resorting to
anti-GA-speak. Why would a plane NOT be able to fly over New York? Was
there a rule I wasn't aware of? Does New York have a...

Heard several aircraft talking ot this guy on guard as I was flying
across Missouri last night. Was pretty dark where I was, but probably
not where he was.

'Notamed closed' question by
JFLEISC
OK, Here is a question for some of you FAR legal experts out there. I can't
seem to find anything definitive on it. If an uncontrolled airport is open to
those based there but notamed 'closed to transients' do the runways have to be
"X"ed?
If not what about a passer-by who didn't intend it to be...

Is that rather uncomplimentary pre-recorded playback near the end of
flights generated by the radio altimeter or GPWS?

'They want to ban recreational flying...' by
Thomas J. Paladino Jr.
I have not read more ignorant, self-important, illogical and just plain
dimwitted crap anywhere else on the internet, than there is on this site. I
just don't even know where to begin.
Be sure to drop these people a note and let them know exactly what you think
of...

'tis an ill wind, etc ... by
Cub Driver
I'd signed up for the Cub on Sunday afternoon, then the AOPA emailed
me the news that Bush 43 was to visit Bush 41 in Kennebunkport and do
some New Hampshire politicking this weekend (New Hampshire, believe it
or not, is a battleground state). Gloom! Your everyday TFR based on
Pease PSM shuts down...

'twas a day when the world was shut.... by
Stealth Pilot[_2_]
I walked outside on Saturday while the toast was cooking and glanced
upward at the most oppressive sight in days.
eight eights blue sky is a common term but doesnt convey the
oppressive nature of all that blue. ...truely it was an impressive
eleven elevenths blue sky that day.
"Hmmm, got to make...

'Unhappy Customer' Post ?? by
CVBreard
In my sleepy-eyed condition this morning, I accidentally deleted a post that
quoted some numbers from the White House Office of Consumer Affairs (or some
such) regarding the effect of an unhappy customer - how many people he told,
etc.
Would somebody kindly repost that item?

Since you're not the sharpest tool in the shed,
I'll enlighten you why you're a BOZO TROLL and
I'm not.
See, I sometimes use funny names like putting on a
hat, but my e-mail remains the same, and my friends
know it's me. I'm not pretending to be another
poster on usenet whom others readily know....

"Instead of steering Titanic safely round to the left of the iceberg,
once it had been spotted dead ahead, the steersman, Robert Hitchins,
had panicked and turned it the wrong way."
