Is Bush doomed? by
John Galt
Is Bush Doomed?
by Paul Craig Roberts
Fear must be coursing through President Bush's veins as he realizes
the Iraqi trap in which the neocons have placed him. Bush is caught
between an Iraqi civil war and a wider insurgency.
Desperate to extricate himself from the weekly carnage well before...

Fighter Aircraft Alternates? by
Richard Stewart
Hi Guys,
Just wondering what the alternate (losing) choices were for the main US
older fighter aircraft?
eg. I know the YF17 lost out to the F18...
But what were the competitors to the rest (you don't need to go back too
far) - that's if they actually HAD competitors...

WW1 RAF night bomber markings question? by
Bill Burns
I came across an interesting reference in a history of aircraft markings
book to an apparently short lived, early war upper-wing national marking for
WW1 RAF night bombers. The reference described it simply as a white disc
used only on night bombers. This marking was different from the white...

Rafael's AIM-AIR IR Missile Countermeasure by
JT
Rafael is developing an IR guided missile countermeasure system called
AIM-AIR. It basically uses sensors to track any IR guided missiles
fired at an aircraft and it uses lasers to then burn the guidance head
of the IR guided missile.
Can missile developers get around this by maybe adding a filter...

Latest News on Russian PAK-FA by
JT
In a Brazilian military website it has a small article on the PAK-FA
fighter. It says that the name will be the Sukhoi T-50 and that it
will not have the forward swept wings as the Su-47 prototype. The
prototype is expected to fly in 2006/2007 with initial in-service
around 2012. I guess we may be...

Please ID these two aircraft by
David O
I'm wrapping up my Oshkosh scrapbook for this year and doing some last
minute editing. It's time for some expert help from the warbird
crowd. Please ID these two aircraft.
I called this one a YAK but I'm not positive. If you can positively ID
the plane, what features give it...

Close Encounters Of The Third Kind by
Mark and Kim Smith
Where'd the planes come from that were shown at the beginning of the
movie? Where are they now?
And for a question not based on reality, why wasn't the desert winds
blowing them around? The aliens didn't leave them tied down or chocked.
