Greetings,
Can anyone recommend an A&P in the San Francisco Bay area that can do
static system checks at the owner's hangar?
Thanks.

Round the world flyers by
Ernie Ganas
Here are the web sites of two guys from Northern California flying solo
around the world. One, Dean Stahr flying a C-182RG Turbo, turns 80 in Nov,
the youngster, Bill Randolph flying an RV-8, turns 77 this fall.
My wife and I have talked to Dean on his satellite phone twice

rough running C-182 by
R&A Kyle
Can anyone suggest a cause for a slight roughness in a well maintained O-470
(1958 C-182). The mechanic has checked both mags and harness wires and
plugs, installed a rebuild carb and balanced the prop (which required very
little correction). In flight checks of carb heat, mags and unlocking...

Rough Engine, please help by
John Clonts
The IO-520 in my Cessna 210 is running rough. It seems to run smooth
at 1000 rpm but the roughness appears above about 1400. One cylinder
is “cold” and apparently not producing any power. I
pulled the rocker cover and found that the intake valve spring was
broken. My mechanic and I...

rough engine just after power reduction by
Sydney Hoeltzli
Last night, on a short hop back to home base after an
instrument lesson (read: extended low power ops),
engine shuddered and ran very rough just after level-off
and power reduction. Run-up and takeoff were normal,
and as usual I leaned like heck for taxi and during
runup. About 80 degrees with...

Rough Aircraft Valuation by
O. Sami Saydjari
Last time I was looking at airplanes for purchase, I thought I found a
website that you could punch in the year, make, and model of an aircraft
and some of its key features and it would spit out an approximate value.
I thought I got to it from the AOPA website...but now I can not find
it. I thought...

Rotoglo by
Jim Burns
Last year, before Christmas, someone posted a link to a crank-up
rechargeable flashlight. I was lucky enough to get one from the company
who's link was posted before supplies ran out. I later tried to order one
for one of my partners without any luck.
I just saw an ad for the same flashlight on...

Rotax 912UL TBO in years? by
[email protected]
I'm aware that the 912UL has a TBO of 1500 hours (up from 1200 not
long ago).
What I'm wondering about is if there's also a time-based TBO. For
example, I know the Lyc 235 has, in addition to its 2400 hours TBO, a
10 year TBO; in other words, an engine 10 years SMO is to be
considered *run-out*...

Rotating Injectors Among Cylinders by
O. Sami Saydjari
My per-cyclinder avg EGTs are as follows:
#1: 1370
#2: 1390
#3: 1450
#4: 1450
#5: 1480
#6: 1430
The difference is 110 degrees between the coldest and hotest cylinder.

Rotating Beacon vs. Flashing Beacon by
Mike Rapoport
My upper rotating beacon has stopped rotating and I am debating whether to
overhaul it or replace it with one of the new Whelen flashing beacons. The
flashing beacons are all solid state with no moving parts but cost $800 and
I am also concerned about noise since the beacon is located a few...

Rosen Visor Parts by
CDP_bayarea
Continuing on the Rosen Sunvisor repair replacement topic.
The $69 replacement lenses that I ordered earlier in the week from
Vantage arrived and they look just like the real thing (in fact they
came in a box with a Rosen part number tag). However I was expecting
them to also be equiped with the...

ROP masking of engine problems by
Roger Long
Word was just getting around about a year ago that it is possible to run
some carbureted engines lean of peak. It was discovered that using carb heat
would improve the mixture distribution.
I had a lot of time early in the year to look into this because our O320
H2AD was apart due to premature...

Room available for EAA by

We had someone from Kansas City who was going to stay with us during the EAA
Airventure, but changed his mind about coming. So now my wife and I are
happy to offer our spare bedroom in our house in northern Appleton,
Wisconsin, about 35 minutes from EAA in Oshkosh. It isn't much, just a
futon...

Rolls-Royce O-200? by
[email protected]
pardon my ignorance...
Is a rolls-royce O-200 the same as a continental O-200?
I mean specifically same overhaul times, same parts, same maintence,
etc?
I'm interested in a homebuilt with one but don't want to get into some
orphan engine.
Thanks,
Ryan in Madison

Roll-based AP of same functionality as STEC-30 by
Andrew Gideon
I'm putting together a proposal for my club to replace TCs with electric AIs
over time. But for this to work, we need an autopilot that can connect to
the electric AI (therefo roll-based). I found a new Chelton that looks
quite nice, but is likely overkill (in terms of price and function) for...

roll servo location in Aztec by

Wondering if anybody knows the normal location of the roll servo for an
S-Tec autopilot in an Aztec. We're having some roll oscillation problems
and we'd like to examine the electrical connections and the motor brushes if
possible.
Thanks
