Peltor headset wiring by jan olieslagers[_2_]
I recently acquired a couple of Peltor 8003 headsets secondhand. They have two stereo jacks. These are molded on so I cannot open them up to see what happens inside. I took the quarter-inch to be stereo, but no: I measured some 290 ohms from tip to ground, and nothing between ring and ground....

veedubber what do your ribs weigh? by Stealth Pilot[_2_]
I applaud your experimental rib building but I wonder how much the work achieves. Cessation of Silliness by [email protected]
To All: Clearly, it is time for certain members of this squad roon to cease such silliness as may be infringing on their ability to slip the surley. One refrain that is a virtual constant from any home-builder Down Under when communicating to the same who happens to be Up Over is an absolute...

Gas welding; popping by Michael Horowitz
OxyAce welding. I know the popping sound I occassionally hear is because the tip is too hot and either a spark or something else is igniting the gas while it's still in the welding tip. GOOGLING around to validate this understanding and ideas for correcting the problem, I find the following...

The Christmas Engine by [email protected]
To All: Christmas sometimes brings a call from a homebuilder who has read one of my articles or seen an ad in an old magazine and is convinced I'm the best person to build an engine for their Dream Machine. For the last twenty years I've always told them ‘no.'
