KIP burn salve (Sorta Kinda OT) by
Jim Weir
Back when I was working for the airlines, we used a burn salve called KIP (Kip
Inc, North Hollywood CA) in both the airborne medicine chest and the hangar
toolboxes. It was distributed by an outfit called Swift Laboratories (also in
NH CA).
It is the greatest thing since sliced bread and bottled...

Kit plane boom with Sport Plane rules by
Dave
So, as I understand it, we are maybe a little over 60 days from the new
sport plane rules coming back from the OMB and hitting the federal
register and becoming 'the rules'.
Have I missed the discussion on 'professionally assembled' kits being
sold to the public? That is, as I understand it, to...

Kit Plane Instrument light dimmer by
Mickey
Would the January 01 dimmer be sufficient to use in our RV7 to drive
about 1 amp total? I saw the April 01 dimmer but I would like to keep
the circuit simple.

kit plane pricing confusing by
natureboy
Ok, I am confused. Take Lancair website for example.Propjet kit, price
115k. Ok. Click on engines and props.Engine 120k, prop 18k. Ok.Parts
and Options.Huh? what parts do I need and which ones are options?I
would say that cabin heat at 20,000 ft is a necessity, not an
option.Somewhat...

Kit recommendations by
another fool
Hi all, thought I would come to the fountain of knowledge that is
Usenet to get some advice on kits.
After thinking long and hard about it I have decided I want to build
an airplane. Not terribly suprising considering the group. But what
plane to build?
After looking at the list of needs v.s....

Kitfox 7/Rotax 914 Performance Questions by
Jim Carriere
Well folks, I hope I'm not opening up a can of worms on this. I searched
the usenet archives on google about this, and nothing quite answered my
question, so...
I emailed Skystar, but want to ask here too.
The kit manufacturer claims a 150mph cruise and 160mph top speed. This
seems a little...

KitFox Airfoils by
Bruce A. Frank
I have been requested to build a pair of aluminum wing tank for a
KitFox. I don't have the details yet as to the model, but I thought I'd
try to locate some info. Is there a place on the web where I might find
diagrams or co-ordinates for the several airfoils used on KitFoxes?

KitPlanes - Home Page by Ron Wanttaja by
RobertR237
Hey Ron,
Ok, now that I am infamous, where are the riches you promised.
Just got my September issue of KitPlanes and saw the story on Building a Home
Page. Great article and I was pleased to see my Web Page in the composite shot
at the beginning of the article. I was really surprised to see a...

Kitplanes 11/08 Headphones for a Buck by
Paul Dow (Remove CAPS in address)
Here's proof the price of electronics is going down. I was transferring
files to a new computer, and I came across a .pdf from the October 1985
kitplanes magazine with the title "The $10 Airplane Headphone, Kodak and
the Shack are back to save Your Ears and Wallet." Written by Jim Weir of
Radio...

Kitplanes Aero'Lectrics Schematics by
Netgeek
On the Kitplanes website there's a "pay-per-view" feature that
allows you to download individual articles from past issues - at
$7.50 a whack - but I figure "Okay - no waiting - cool"...
In my case I needed the September and November '04 Jim
Weir column so I can build his slick VOR tester. So I...

Kitplanes Articles -- Volunteer? by
RST Engineering
I have about three or four years of my monthly Kitplanes columns that have
not been posted on my website for you all to use. I used to post them every
month, but with dialup it was taking me (literally) hours to cut, paste,
upload, resume ... for each article. I also had a wonderful volunteer...

Kitplanes August Issue by
Badwater Bill
Does anyone know when the August issue of Kitplanes is going to be
out? When do they normally send it if you subscribe? There's an
article on the Old Men's Airplane Building Project (OMABP) i.e. Jess
Meyer's RV-6A with the Chevy engine in it.
You might recall that I was the test pilot on that...

Kitplanes blog shuts down by
Jim Logajan
That "experiment" didn't seem to find the lift its builders expected:
http://www.kitplanesmag.blogspot.com/
Too bad - not sure if it was a lack of traffic (inadequate marketing) or
simply too much of a drain of their finite time relative to what they
thought they thought they were gaining.

Kitplanes CD-ROM directory by
David Smith
Is there a store or other source that still has old copies of the Kitplanes
magazine CD-ROM that has a database / search facility for kit aircraft? The
magazine no longer sells the information in a CD format, so I am looking for
suggestions.
