Moving map query by
Martin Gregorie
Has anybody used SoaringPilot on a Palm m100?
If so:
- what are its pros and cons?
- how does the m100 display readability compare with an IPAQ 3630 or
3850 in the cockpit?
TIA,

med requirements? by

I have heard that it is not possible to obtain a pilot's license if
afflicted with insulin-dependent diabetes. Is this, indeed, the case?
Please advise. Thank you.

Gransden regionals traces by
Martin Gregorie
I've just received the following from Richard Baker, who is the CGC
web master:
"After discussion with Ron Bridges of the Comps Committee, John
Glossop has decided that, since we did not ask all the competing
pilots if they were prepared to let their traces be included, that
they cannot be made...

Question of the day by
M B
A given glider is at level flight, IAS= 100 knots. After
a pull-up, will itachieve more height gain with 100 liters (100 kgs)
of ballast than withempty ballast????Assuming the glider with ballast stalls at exactly100 knots, the unballasted glider will clearly gain
morealtitude during the pullup. ...

Strictly gliders? by
Jim Buckridge
Anyone know offhand what percentage of those with their glider rating
ONLY have their glider rating? Seems where I am everyone who flies
gliders has their PPL as well. But most of them seem to prefer
soaring :-)

Gaggle Soaring by
DGRTEK
Scott,
Talk to the pilots on the ground first. Tell them you'd like to try and join
up. Enter the gaggle in the direction that has been established. Stay in a
position that allows you to see the other gliders and have them see you. Try
not to get directly beneath someone, in case they goof and...

Nimbus sailplane question by
TJ
I seem to remember a discussion about in flight problems
with Nimbus sailplanes. I tried to find it and could not.
Can someone fill me in on the details? Which model
of Nimbus (I, II, III)? What was the specific problem?
Thanks,
Thomas

Wing Waxing by
Marske Flying Wings
I have often heard that wing waxing does not really help performance but
have never heard anything definitive but my own experiences with the Marske
flying wings lead me to believe that at least for the marske designs it
improves performance.
On our first flights in the Marske Pioneer we had upper...

Ventus C vs B by
tango4
Apart from the very sweet looking 17.6 m tips and tail ballast what are the
other differences between the Ventus B and the Ventus C.
Does the C have the same long cockpit as the B ?
I believe the C handles a lot better.

Question of the Day by
M B
Since mass is a constant factor on both sides of the equation, it cancels out. Therefore there should theoretically be negligible difference in the pullup altitude gained between the ballasted and unballasted cases.True except for two things:The ballasted glider has more induced dragwhile at...

Rudy in the Rocket Glider by

Rudy still lives in southern Connecticut and is now
in his 90's. I believe he's recently stopped flying
due to his eyesight.
A great, unassuming man with many fantastic flying

Commercial - New PDA mounts from RAM by
Paul Remde
Hi,
I just updated my web site with some new PDA mount products from RAM.
The RAM-HOL-PD2 is perfect for holding any iPAQ or the Dell Axim. Until now
there was no great cradle available for the Axim. I've tested it with the
Dell Axim, Compaq Aero h1500, iPAQ h3900, and iPAQ h2215. Details...
