Wings to Adventure by
Paul Tomblin
Is it just me, or has whoever does "Wings To Adventure" set up their sound
levels wrong?
I normally have my volume set to around 20 - but when "Wings To Adventure"
comes on I have to crank it up to around 35. That makes the narrator
audible, but the commercials are painfully loud.

Thanks! by
birdog
Keep it up, guys. I'm an old,old pilot who lost his medical to senility, but
I still live and breath flying. And you kinda keep me up on what's new. I
could talk flying for hours, but I bore the hell out of others. So I'll just
enjoy the conversations here, and add my long ago experiences when I...

Google maps API by
Andrew Sarangan
While fooling around with google maps API, I wrote a small script to
display all the airports I have flown into, extracted directly from my
electronic logbook. I thought it was pretty cool, and it was very easy
to implement. http://www.sarangan.org/aviation/airports_visited.html

K.C. Downtown Airport by
three-eight-hotel
I just got back from a business trip to K.C., and had the opportunity
to stay in the downtown area.
Driving in on highway 29 South from the airport, towards downtown, took
us right by the downtown airport, as what looked like a Malibu was
taking off. It was such a cool site, taking in the...

Getting to the other side of KMIA from the Keys by
FlipSide
As a rather new VFR pilot with only 122 hours, I have not ventured
far from my home bases. I am planning a trip down to the keys and
back. But I would like to return along the east coast back to Jax.
Capt. Doug suggested that it's easiest to stay at 1000' or less and
follow the beach. Just north...

Travel to Hyannis by
Andrew Gideon
Any recommendations for flying into Hyannis (KHYA)? It's in my plans for
next week.
I have to admit: I'm a little worried about it. I saw on the Jepp plate
that one must contact airport ops, before shutdown, for an escort. That
doesn't sound friendly.
Thanks...

For Jay Honeck and Montblack by
Flyingmonk
Jay,
I didn't have Montblack's email address, please check your email and
forward for me if you could. Much appreciated.
Once you see what I sent, you'll see what a bummer the way things
turned out, and I thought the hard part would be telling my SO that I
was gonna go play with the boys for a...

Easiest and Hardest by
[email protected]
What in your view are the easiest and hardest aspects about flying? I
mean in the phase between takeoff and touchdown, so the obvious
"taxiing" doesn't count :)
Hardest would be countering windshear on finals or flying IFR through a
storm at low altitude, I'd imagine.
Hoping this thread gets...

Learning from an owner annual by
Robert M. Gary
After 6 years of Mooney ownership I'm doing my first owner assisted
annual. Most of my previous annuals have been done by factory service
centers. I'm quite a good wrench around cars so this experience is
mostly about me learning the standards & practices of aircraft work.
I'm amazed by a couple...
