I recently came across this electronic safety whistle and thought it to be a no brainer for my (or any serious pilot's) flight bag. Thought I'd share. http://www.davidsteele.com

Flight Cheetah by doogiedoc
Anyone have flight cheetah? I'm trying to get weather and GPS without having to install boxes permanently (i.e. I don't need IFR approved.) Airgator also seems to be pretty good but the features of flight cheetah seem outstanding. They appear to have both WxWorx and Orbcomm as options...what's...

KX 155 trouble by doug mcconnell
I have a 1967 182 with dual KX 155s. When I first start the plane, both radios work fine. As soon as I accelerate to take-off speed, primary radio develops major static, then quits working. Secondary radio develops intermittent static. Have taken radios to local radio shop, with nothing found. ...

Greetings, I have an old Magellan SkyStar GPS for which I'm trying to find newer database. The one installed is from '97! More importantly, I'm looking for a PC interface cable to play with. This unit is long discontinued, but does anyone know where I might find what I'm looking for? Perhaps...

transponder repair by [email protected]
I have a Narco AT50A transponder that is not working right. Since I don't fly IFR, I'm thinking I'll just get it repaired and not upgrade to an expensive unit with a more modern design (such as Garmin GTX 327). It seems that if the repair is cheaper than buying a used yellow-tagged newer model, I'm...

garmin 296-can't find delete by [email protected]
I have a new Garmin 296 and I can't figure out how to delete the factory-loaded default airport that displays when "Go To" is selected. It's the first alphabetic airport in the database, I assume, KAAA. I can't find any way to delete it or any of the airports I've added. Anyone know how to do it?

Aerospace Logic CHT+EGT vs EI/JPI EMS by EridanMan
Hey Guys, I was wondering if any of you had thoughts about the suitability of Aerospace Logic CHT+EGT gauges as a substitute for a dedicated multibar EMS for LOP operations. While obviously I'd be missing out on all the "cool" features, the aerospace logic gauges would give me Hottest Cylinder...
