LX5000 stuck in cruise mode by Alan D
Anyone have this issue - the cruise/climb switch on my LX5000 does not change the setting any more (vario stuck in cruise), the auto settings do not work. The switch itself is working so this has to be a software issue. Any ideas on how to fix it.

Insurance Options? by Jonathan St. Cloud
I know Costello Insurance Associates and LL Johns and associates insure gliders. Was looking for comments on if one is better or cheaper than the other and if there are other insurance companies that offer competitive rates?

Backing up a cobra trailer uphill. Is it safe ? by [email protected]
I have a steep driveway where I want to park my Cobra trailer. Is it safe to backup the trailer up the incline ? This means that the run-up brake will be completely compressed. Can this be done without any damage to the mechanisme ? Is my understanding correct that there is some kind of...

Over on the ASH-26E newsgroup there is a thread that the recommended oil for the ASH-26E, ASH-31, and the solo 2350 is no longer available in the U.S. Anyone have suggestions, comments. What are the two stroke owners doing for oil?

Sparrowhawk handling by Hartley Falbaum[_2_]
Is the Sparrowhawk handling suitable for a low time glider pilot who flies infrequently? How is pitch and roll sensitivity compared to say, a Discus B? One of our club members seems to have a big problem staying in position on tow. He does just OK in a K21. I need to know how to help him or...

NEW Sporting Code rules by [email protected]
Well done FAI! You've now made it pretty much impossible to do a Silver distance from my airport with any acceptable degree of risk. The only airport that we can fly to that has terrain suitable for an outlanding near it is less than 50KM from our airport. Terminal airspace restrictions make it...

SH circuit breakers? by [email protected]
My D-2 has recently decided it would be interesting & exciting to blow the gear horn, even though the spoilers are locked (with gear up). If this were to happen while airborne, my only recourse would be to pull the U/C circuit breaker. SH has recently started using new little circuit breakers that...
