Rear view camera on tow plane by [email protected]
Anyone using a rear view camera in their tow plane? I know this has been covered before, but there has been a lot of changes in the technology. Our club is just finishing rebuilding our Pawnee. Instead of mounting mirror(s) we're considering using a temp installed camera with the monitor velcro'd...

Cobra Trailer Jam-nuts (loose) by [email protected]
Don't know why, but the last 3 Cobra trailers I have seen all had very loose wing spar jam nuts. When a wing is rolled in, it's spar passes under a horizontal cross bar and when the tip is lowered into the floor saddle, the spar rises slightly to firmly come to rest under the horizontal cross...

Becker AR4201 friction between frequency adjustment knobs by [email protected]
I have such a radio, and when you turn one of those concentric knobs, the other one turns too, unless you hold it firmly. Thus it takes two hands to turn only one knob. How can I adjust it work as intended?

"Bill Gawthrop (F8) died August 23rd at his home in Northern California.. Bill was an avid student, a generous teacher and a gracious competitor. Bill began his love affair with fight, flying hang gliders in Colorado where he established several still-used soaring sites. Bill took up gliding in...

Ventus C vs LS6 by Marshall Woodford
I’m looking for a cross county glider. The Ventus C comes with 17.5 and 15 winglets. It also has factory tips. The LS6 has low hours and the wings and horizontal stab was refinished and painted. The fuselage is in good condition and original. Both have Cobra trailers and the Ventus’s...

Pawnee operators - Factory parts avialable by [email protected]
The TC holder / mfg of the PA-25 line has an extensive parts inventory. I am in Argentina, not too far from the factory, and could possibly take some smallish parts back with me. the exchange rate is very favorable, let me know if you have a critical need. Mike Malis Perlan project

WTB DG-101 trailer nosecone by [email protected]
I'm adapting a trailer to my DG-101 and would like to buy a molded nosecose to act as a forward stop in the trailer. The existing nosecone was fitted to a Jantar Standard 2 and has quite a different shape. Thought I'd check here in the remote chance that someone might have one. Matt

I had small leak on the right wing water ballast bag on my LS6. Pulled it out and tested, It looked O.K. from outside, (Seems original LS genuine "3F5-28" two part tank of total 80L capacity), but water slowly penetrate internal Brown PVC layer to the tan colored water-sealed outer nylon layer,...

Our Club is reworking towing height fees. We are based south of Denver (elevation 7,000' msl). Normal tow heights are to about 9,000-10,000' msl. We have new members who now are asking for tows to 14,000' msl. This is causing up to 45-minute waits for the next tow. Normally, we get about four or...

Hard wax v/s liquid wax by FranCP
Hi, Can hard wax be replaced by liquid wax application? Of course silicon free, as well as other harmfull adds. Although i've seen guys maintaining their gliders purely on applying liquid wax regularly, i guess it wont seal & protect the gelcoat as well as a good anual hard wax buffing. ¿Any...
