Washout? by [email protected]
I picked up a project that was supposed to be built with 1.5 degrees of washout towards the end of the wings. The builder unfortunately built them without washout, because while his workmanship was actually quite good he was worried he wouldn't be able to match the wings and one would drop in a...

Anyone know much about the Odyssey dry cell batteries? by Sliker
I'm thinking of using their biggest one, rated at 925 amps to crank my IO-540 300hp engine. I'm wondering if they are the same type of construction as the old dry cell flashlight batteries? The type that had that black carbon inside, which are still sold as "heavy duty" D cells, ect. The only...

Tube Fuse Oil Holes by John[_17_]
Does anybody still do the old technique of drilling holes before tacking tubes together to interconnect them for oiling the fuse when it's finished? I've been told that's not done any more, because of the realization that as long as the welds are air tight, the oxygen trapped in the tube is...

New diesel engine from Subaru... by [email protected]
http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/FirstDrives/articleId=124553 2L TDIO, All aluminum block/head, boosted, intercooled, 258 pound-feet of torque @ 1,800 rpm. Probably a terrible engine for a car. But for an airplane.... Haven't found the weight yet. -Matt

Fie and phooey on RVG!!! Yea FAA!!! by Bret Ludwig
http://www.vansairforce.net/rvator/1-2008-RVator.pdf On reading this it's obviously a shot across the bow of the yuppie- popular fast build kit industry. All I can say is, It's About Time and You Damn Skippy this is needed and right. RVG/Van's is essentially promoting, marketing and...

homemade external/internal antenna for handheld. by gorgon
The subject sort of tells most of what I'm looking for. I have an Aeronca and would like to increase the trans/recep of my handheld. There was an article by Weir a couple of years ago in Kitplane, I think, on how to make one. Help? Thanks Mark in third world Wyoming.

700lbs? by wesleymarceaux[_2_]
I know this will not do much for unbelievers, But I have no problem believing that an 1835 engine with a belt reduction system would fly an airplane with a takeoff weight of 1050lb's.. The performance didn't look to be that bad either. I think a good 1835 vw engine with reduction can do...
