Anyone have any experience of Helicopter Adventures, Florida? by Simon Robbins
I'm looking into (financial) alternatives to doing my CPL(H) training in the UK. Heli Adventures offer a JAA course in Florida (plus FAA and a work visa for a year afterwards, which may or may not be useful). Anyone have any direct experience of them? Si

Flew with a Robinson factory pilot today.. by Don W
Hi Kevin, You didn't say, but I'm assuming that you were flying a R22, and not the R44. I've only done about 3 autos in the R22, but what you are saying makes sense to me, and was also the way I was taught. As long as you don't let the rotor RPM get into the red, you are fine, and the...

Enstrom 480B by Andrew Crane
Hi - I'm looking at buying a helicopter and am looking at an R44 for reasons of its popularity, low entry costs and the fact that that is all I am licensed to fly. However if I could get a second hand turbine reasonably cheaply, I would be interested. What is the group's views of the Enstrom...

A good starting point? by Victor J. Osborne, Jr.
Forgive the question if it has been beat to death but "What is good a aircraft to start with in getting a rotorcraft rating? I currently have an A36 Bonanza with a CP-ASEL. I live in TN. I don't think I want to deal with R44's based on comments from some in our area. I'm leaning toward...

Hi, Kevin, I'm a full-time writer and (what feels like) a full-time student pilot in the Phoenix area, and enjoy your posts from both perspectives: they're a joy to read, and since I'm just slightly behind you in hours, they're always relevant. And I gotta tell you, your bad days are even better...

Long Island Crash - Kite String? by Neb Okla
Witnesses reported seeing kite string wrapped around the heli. http://news12.com/LI/topstories/article?id=118790 Could that even cause a heli to crash? I'd think that a kite string would be easily broken... and even if it did wrap around a control area, I'd think that the helicopter would have...

Looking for helicopter flight training (and advice) - Sacramento now, and moving to Phoenix next year by JonTheRookie
Ok, I'm one of those people who has always dreamed of becoming a pilot and always thought "Nah that's not realistic, I need to get a job at a boring company and sit in a Cube all day staring at a computer screen". So 5 long years have gone by and now I'm actually realizing that I should have...

Enstrom on ebay by joe
There's a 1979 Enstrom f28-c on ebay. The seller says it needs one main blade and both tail blades. I'm guessing this would at least double the $47k buy it now price? Any ideas on the cost of those parts? Yea, I'm still thinking about buying a helicopter. The winnings are doing well in my...
