TAS vs. flap reflex angle by
ELIPPSE
I recently did a flight test of my Lancair 235 testing TAS, true air
speed, vs. the reflex angle of the flaps, i.e. angle of the flaps above
the wing surface. The test was flown at 1535 lb, 11,000' density
altitude, full-throttle, leaned for max rpm.

Best coax for aircraft radios by
ELIPPSE
If you would like to have the finest low-loss, light-weight coax cable
for your aircraft radio installations, get Andrew FSJ1-50A Heliax
Superflexible Foam Cable. It's pricier than the RG's, but the
performance is so far superior that your com, VOR, Xpndr, and whatever
will give you range...

I am now mounting my instruments & am wondering what hardware to use to
mount them. Also, to these standard, round instruments such as an
artificial horizon need any additional supports behind the dash?
Next question would be, when it comes time to do...

antenna for rag and tube Aircraft by
[email protected]
I was looking for a hideable antenna for a rag and tube homebuilt, I
emailed RST to see if they had a kit for one but seems it isn't
possible? Anyone out there had any success? I guess I've seen those
angular ones that get stuffed in wingtips and I will have thin plywood
and dacron covering or...

Chris, Sorry about your luck...sounds like you had the right idea. I
can't help on most of this but I do have considerable experience with
oil coolers...I designed several of the units from Niagara and Aero
Classics. First I would check the oil cooler...If it is an overhaul

Garmin 96c glitch? by

Anyone out there using the Garmin 96c handheld GPS? I have discovered a
glitch that may be a significant firmware problem on the 96c (and maybe the
96). When projecting a waypoint on a bearing from between 165 to 181
degrees FROM any existing waypoint in the 96c's internal aviation datatbase

"Culex" Twin by
eg
Hi NG,
in an old publication I found a design that appeared worthwhile looking at.
Its name is "Culex", it is a all-wooden, fixed gear, tandem seat light twin
using (back then) Limbach engines. The information about had been published
by the "original" Fisher Flying Products.
Since then, Fisher...

Smart CDI diesel engine by

can someone please tell me whether efforts are on the way already to
turn the Smart CDI diesel engine into an aircraft engine? I'm looking

should be appr. 75 Kg (165 lb). It looks to me the larger of the

Laser danger by

To All:
Shortly after departing SDO enroute to LAX a laser briefly illuminated
the cockpit of a three-holer causing the First Officer to become so
disoriented that he accidentally woke up the Captain.
Boy, did he get yelled at.
