Cessna 150 annual costs by Anonymous Pilot
I'm, posting anonymous as I don't want identify the maintenance shop involved. I own a later model Cessna 150. My last few annuals have been on the high side and I got quite the whopper for this year. I'm wondering if my mechanic is fleecing me or if airplane is falling apart. I bought a 150...

Airliner crew flies 150 miles past airport by Richard[_11_]
Been a busy day today. Wonder what a heated airline policy discussion looks like that could end up missing calls from ATC and spend 150 miles off course...? Perhaps they were really just busy texting.... http://www.cnn.com/2009/TRAVEL/10/22/airliner.fly.by/index.html?iref=mpstoryview

Landing 16L KJAN Landing 17 KMBO - Video by [email protected]
Trip to the practice area with some new camera angles. I will say this video captures one of my slowest ground speeds on final. I thought a tug would have to lasso me in for awhile to get me in. Wing view jitters into KJAN due to putting the camera in handle strap of portfolio, Timelapsed my...

Declared first emergency last week by EventHorizon
I thought you might all find this story interesting. Me, I'm 53 and have been flying since 1988 with about 1000 hrs. My partner is a CFI and we've been in a Cherokee 140 partnership for about 12 years. We have a 1974 Cherokee Cruiser, which we normally keep well maintained (!). About a week...

an interesting in flight experiment by a[_3_]
Next time you're at altitude and in cruise mode, switch from 'both' to a single bank of spark plugs. It will remind you what happens should you have one side decide to go in/op when in flight. I had the engine (IO 360) go rough a couple of weeks ago, but rough was a lot better than the very smooth...

Peerless Line Service at AXS by brian whatcott
It's been a long time since I was on the receiving end of line service - good, bad or indifferent. But I know when when I get it good - and I got it today. With a C150! I delivered a plane to a new home base - and was neatly directed onto a tie down, where it was then tied off near the...

GPS for the Out Of Touch by brian whatcott
I'm out of touch. I'd like advice on selecting the 1) cheapest GPS that 2) can enter waypoints and 3) can display cross track error, time and distance to go. It would also be pleasant to 4) dump track made good coordinates in a form that Google Earth could handle, directly or indirectly.
