F & M Oil Filter Adapter by
NW_PILOT
Well, I received my F & M oil filter adapter for my O-200 today not bad for
quality of workmanship the Casting could have been cleaned up a bit &
Machining could have been done a bit more precise for the money you spend on
the unit but I don't think its going to make a diffreance as its under...

at about $3000. However I don't think this is true. What is the actual

Lycoming 0-360 A4M Engine overhaul in Ohio by
Roy Page
We are based in NE Ohio and looking to overhaul another Archer's engine
soon.
We had a bad experience recently with core charges from Lycoming and have
decided to do a field overhaul on this bird.
We would like to fly the bird in so we are looking at companies within a
reasonable distance of NE...

Stumped by new starter by
Jim Burns
I'm stumped by a problem with a new (rebuilt) Prestolite starter. Bare with
me while I go through the details.
The left engine starter had been causing us problems, the bendix wouldn't
engage every time. We also had a problem with the right bendix but only on
occasion, so we thought we just...

Operating cost: C421 PA31 an BE58 by
Jarema
If my boss buy a plane I would be prospective pilot on it. He thinks
about cabin class twin or BE58. After fast research we together decided
to choose from:
- Cessna 421C
- Piper Navajo
- Beech 58 Baron.
Could you give me example operating cost?
Would it be difficult to buy insurance for low time...

KX155 Glideslope Interface by
Don Tuite
There are two versions of the KX155. One will drive a KI204 or 209;
one won't.
Anybody know if it is possible to buy the interface and have it
installed in a non-GS KX155 so that the radio is legal?

Tie-down winter hazards by
[email protected]
We had 5-6 inches of snow last Thursday followed with a mix of
rain/freezing rain on Saturday. We went to the airport on Sunday
arming with shovels, snow brushes, isopropyl alcohol sprayer etc. Right
after entering the gate, we glanced at the ramp and was alarmed to see
the other Cardinal on the...

social commentary, performance art or smut? by
[email protected]
I just came across the website for a video called "hunting for bambi".
From the looks of it, it seems to be a low-brow stab at the OLN/Playboy
genres of cable networks, but also comes across as a misogynist
celebration of gun culture. Does anybody have any insight or opinions
as to what else it...

folding bicycle - Cardinal RG by
Stephen N Mills
I am planning to buy a folding bicycle for use in Vicky (N2679V -
Cardinal RG '75).
Eventually there will be two bicycles, his and hers. Occasional use
for trips up to 5 or 10 miles in moderate hills, no mountain biking,
no centuries. More than three speeds would be nice but I don't know...

Cool Oil Temperatures by
Ross and Paula Richardson
I own a '65 Cessna Skyhawk with a Lycoming O-360-A1A turning a constant
speed prop. I recently read an article in the Cessna Pilot's Association
on too high of oil temperatures, but that is not my case. I have been in
contact with them and they also suggest I get the wisdom of the NG. The
oil...

Convert Cherokee 140 to 180? by
Tim Long
Our 140 is coming up on 1600 hrs TBO.
We really hate what a dog it is and would like more power.
Planning ahead, we've thought of a few options:
1 - 160 hp conversion (this is almost the minimum we'd do)
2 - Powerflow exhaust (article in Plane and Pilot claims 20% power
improvement - can it be...

My GPS keeps losing it's mind. On my trip back from California a couple

picks up again, sometimes not. On the way down to Shreveport, I left it in

Question for Jim Wier (or other electrical guru) by
Mike Rapoport
In my 1974 Helio Courier, the avionics bus is powered by a contactor that is
activated by the avionics master switch. There is no circuit protection
between the contactor and the avionics bus. The wiring between the
contactor and the bus consists of two 12ga wires. There also doesn't appear
to...
