KLN94 -> GTX330 (GND/ALT switching) by
Charles Oppermann
The GTX330 transponder is the recent addition. The 330 works but the
auto ground/air mode switching (based on GPS ground speed) doesn't
work.
According to the GTX330 Pilot's Guide, the only thing that GND mode does is
turn off transponder replies.
It's my understanding that it is no longer...

KLN94 -> GTX330 (GND/ALT switching) by
Bill Chernoff
I have a GTX327, and it has a squat switch which is used to switch from
ground to air modes. Maybe your 330 has the same. You may not need the GPS
connected to the 330... I am no expert, I am reading this out of the manual.
By the way, I am interested in making a remote switch for...

pagers/rim in the cockpit? by
[email protected]
dear experts---is it legal to use a pager and/or RIM blackberry device
in the cockpit, or has the FCC outlawed this, just like ordinary
cellphones, too?
I saw a website of some service (via
http://www.aspenleaf.com/palm/radar.html) that supposedly clips nexrad
images into pager messages that I...

Who has fitted a TRI-band ELT to a TB20? by
Chris G.
Worldwide, the 121.5/243.0 MHz ELT signals will no longer be detected by
the SAR satellites. The following references will explain it better
than I can, but here is the first line of the text from the URL: "The
International Cospas-Sarsat System will cease satellite processing of
121.5/243 MHz...

Near collision at BOS? by
Stubby
Does anybody have the details? From what I've heard on the news,
intersecting runways were in use and planes were cleared for takeoff on
both. A copilot on one saw the other and made his plane hop off a bit
early, narrowly avoiding the other.
Two controllers were sent back to get re certified...

How do I cut 3/16" stainless steel aircraft cable? I've tried
wirecutters, tin snips, airplane sheers, and a branch lopper. Tough stuff!

747 weight distribution by
Robin
Hello, this is an odd question of curiosity from an amateur: Two days
ago I was flying from Dulles to LHR on a United 747-400. The aircraft
taxied to the end of the runway, then the pilot announced there was a
problem with the weight distribution on the aircraft wings, and we
would have to move...

Engine doesn't make minimum static rpm by
Bob Fry
Aircoupe Alon A2 with C90 engine with two props, one 48" pitch and the
other 52". It doesn't make the static runup RPM minimums with either
one, for instance the 48" prop should be 2225 to 2325 rpm, I averaged
out to 2162 rpm. Likewise the 52" prop falls short 100 rpm or more.

Cessna 152 Rudder trim adjustment? by
GEG
Hi Folks,
I'm a low-time (10 hour) student pilot.
I took my first flights in my school's 152 about 2 years ago, then had
an 18-month wait for various reasons.
When I first flew the plane, I don't remember the right rudder being
such an issue (I flew 3 times 2 years ago).
Now, the right rudder...

GPS Advise by
Sam D. Thomas
I just passed my check ride and earned my private ticket last week.
I'm now starting to do some extended cross country work and would like
some input as to GPS units. I have researched (3) units and would like
some "real-world" opinions as to features, usability and support.
Here are the units I'm...
