Have you ever seen/made such a flying handcraft? by
Qingpei Hu
Hi, Dear All,
I have alwaying been thinking to make a light, tiny, paper(or some
other light material) butterfly, that could fly with flapping his
wings by some mechanical power engine(like clockwork spring or elasic,
or else).
While I was a child, I liked playing paper-plane very much. I...

Headphone adapter/mic help request by
GEG
I'm a musician and I have some excellent noise reduction
in-ear headphones. I would like to use these as my
in-cockpit headphones.
Generally - the regular over-the-head, squish-your-ear
things are quite annoying to me.
However - that leaves me with the issue of a mic and adapter
to use these...

Heard on the air by
Roy Smith
We had just taken off VFR from HPN when a snow squall blew in. We hadn't
even reached pattern altitude when we decided discretion was the better
part of valor. We came right back and landed.
On the taxi back, I heard ground say to somebody, "The field is now IFR,
visibility 2-1/2 miles in...

Heard on the radio by
Roy Smith
This was a funny one I overheard today, heading back into HPN.
Some guy checks in with NY Approach. The controller says, "It says here
in the remarks that you've got a dog aboard".
Aircraft: That's right
ATC: Why would I want to know that?
Aircraft: It means I can't handle a descent faster...

Hedge-hopper in Niedersachsen by
[email protected]
Hi,
I was messing about with Google Earth and spotted what looks like a
medium-sized twin-engined passenger 'plane (Boeing 737-ish?)*extremely*
close to the ground just south of Belsen in Niedersachsen, N Germany.
The location is 52 deg 44 min 38 sec N, 9 deg 56 min 5 sec E.
It looks like it was...
