Remote Power On by
Robbie S.
I have been trying to figure out a cheaper alternative to having to pay $369
to purchase a Beeper Box to turn the engine heater on in my hanger from a
remote location an hour or two before I fly. Before I try and re-invent the
wheel, does anyone know of a product on the market that could do the...

Remote power control by
Paul Tomblin
Last month in "GA News" there was a brief mention of a system that allowed
you to turn on a power plug by calling a pager or cell phone. I was
interested in it for controlling the Tanis heater on my plane, but a
friend at work was describing needing something similar for his cottage to
turn on the...

Remote oil filter follow up. by
Michelle P
Well it has been several weeks since I have installed my Airwolf Remote
oil filter.
A few things the report:
If I had know what the final cost was going to be I would have just
replace my original cracked oil filter adapter. The total coast was
nearly $800. about $500 for two nicely machined...

Some one out there must have an old Magellan Skystar in a cupboard some
having upgraded to something newer.
My remote antenna cable was stolen by some jerk (why heaven only knows) and
I am having trouble picking up an signals.
I have tried all the dealers and Magellan itself looking for a spare...

Remos G3 demo and AOPA Expo (long) by
Mike Isaksen
Gentlemen, I decided to re-post this on the owning group under its own
Subject line:
AOPA Expo (HFD) Hartford, CT.
I had a terific time, drove in and stayed for all three days. I try to
catch the shows on the East Coast and this one was well represented. The
airport was IMC before lunch...

remodel & upgrade or buy an upgraded plane? by
Dico Reyers
Hi,
I have a 1967 m20e super 21. It has little for instrumentation and
the radio stack is pretty weak. It certainly isn't near IFR. The
interior is original and the paint is 5/10. It'll cruise at 130kts
2200 rpm and 23"
I'm looking for opinions on whether to upgrade and have a sharp, but
old...

Reman engine advice requested by
Nigel Peart
We are shortly to install a factory reman TSIO520M into our 206 in
skydiving ops.
What run-in protocol would you adopt?
How often would you change the oil/filter?
How often would you get the shop to check it?

Reliability of O-300 by
Captain Wubba
Hello. Looking at buying another airplane (I tried cutting out the
middleman and just flushing $100 bills down the toilet, but it isn't
quite the same). I'm currently considering early-mid 60s Cessna 172s,
powered by the 145 HP Continental O-300, and would like to hear from
any owners of these...

RejeX update by
Dan Luke[_2_]
The rep's at the RejeX booth said it is not necessary to wait the full 20
minutes to wipe it off as the directions state. Soon as it dries to a haze,
wipe it off. Waiting longer makes it harder. They also said it may not work
if applied over waxes or other coatings like Pledge.
They also...

Rejex by

Been using this stuff for a month now on the new airplane. So far, Iike it.
It goes on like any liquid car wax. You let it dry for 20 minutes, then wipe
it off. It wipes off a bit more easily than regular wax haze.
The instructions say to apply it when temp. is below 85 F. and let it cure 12...

Reinstalling vacuum DG by
Mike Noel
I finally pulled my Mitchell (Edo-Aire?) vacuum DG and sent it off to
Bernard Ducasse for overhaul. For those following the new vs. re-new
debate, I'll let the group know how the overhaul turns out.
After removing the DG, I covered the exposed ends of the vacuum hoses left
dangling in the plane...

Regulator/valve for filling struts by
Ben Jackson
I'd like to get a tank of N2 to keep around to fill my struts. I assume
the welding supply place that will sell me the tank can sell me a regulator
that will get me into the 300-500psi range (right?). Where can I get
the hose with appropriate (schraeder?) valve for the strut end? Am I
looking...

Registration question by
Michael Horowitz
I'm reading the FAA CD for a Tcraft.
I see in '90 that it sustained substantial damage, was deregistered as
'totally distroyed', then sold.
Apparently someone resurrected it, because it was sold several years
later using the same N number and it's currently flying in Florida.
The CD (BTW) doesn't...

Registering Pieces of Aircraft? by
O. Sami Saydjari
On another thread, I learned that Merlyn tries to keep track of new
owners of aircraft on which their product is installed (Merlyn Automatic
Wastegate, in this case) so they can send out any service bulletins or
ADs on the device, if they should be issued.
This raises a question in my mind. ...

Regarding Oil Temp Gauge and Line Repairable by
rkane33
Last month I posted a message asking whether the Oil Temp Gauge and line
could be repaired on my 1974 Cessna 172.
The Cessna dealer quoted around $450 for a new one.
My notes indicate that Mark suggested I send the Gauge and line that broke
to Air Parts of Lockhaven. He said he had one done for...
