EAA Patches? by
[email protected]
We're gearing up for construction of our new "Oshkosh Suite" (at our
aviation theme-suite hotel), and as part of the effort we're
sorting/framing/shadow-boxing 25 years of personal Oshkosh memorabilia.
An important centerpiece for the suite will be a montage of all the
Oshkosh EAA sew-on patches. ...

Vinyl letters in foreign language by
Fly
Hi Folks!
Anybody here have a sign shop or know about cutting vinyl letters?
Local Yak owner wants his name printed under the cockpit's edge aka typical
warbird style, except spelt in Russian.
Letters about 1 inch high.
We can handle the Russian language, no problem.
But we can't paint very...

An animal so rare it may not exist . . . by
[email protected]
Folks:
I have a rather irritating fuel line situation that has several
possible solutions, each more complicated and / or expensive than the
last. Specifically I need a remotely mounted fuel cutoff valve, but it
is so remotely mounted that the standard valve-on-a-long-ujoint
solution is not going...

The Mother of Invention by
[email protected]
Some of the busiest flying fields here in San Diego county aren't
airports. Although you can see them from the air or on Google's
satellite shots, most of them don't even exist, according to the
aviation bureaucracy. A couple of them are paved but the others are
dirt, sod, gravel, or a dry lake...

Need Help on Landing Gear Calculations by
Dick
Thinking about load testing one main gear assembly off the plane project
anticipated for 1000 # gross and have two question areas.
FIRST: FAR 23.725 provides a drop height range from 9.2 " to 18.7". With a
1000# gross plane, I think this calculates as 797 and 882# respectively on
each...

Morgans
Yesterday, 12-10-06, a Rans S-6 went down near Taylorsville NC, close to where
I work. Unfortunately, two died.
Preliminary indications cite engine failure, and a steep nose down crash, while
trying to return to the airport.

Plywood bonding to Aluminum fuselage structure ?? by

I wonder if you guys can answer a question about aircraft adhesive and
techinques.
I am considering the option of gluing aircraft plywood to a aluminum
tube fuselage structure. After reading about properties of adhesives
to perhaps accomplish this effort I stumbled upon T88. If I used such

Abandoned cargo: Anybody recognize this airplane mockup? by
Bob Kuykendall
This just popped up on SalvageSale:
http://www.salvagesale.com/showoffer.asp?o=21033&l=16457218
Looks like sales mockups of two small airplanes. The description is for
an airplane and a car, but it looks to me like mockups of a two-seater
airplane fuselage and a four-seater cabin. Judging by the...
