ballasting with integral tanks by
Flavio Formosa
I remember having once seen on 'Soaring' an article
about a clever (albeit complicate) ballasting system
designed for an LS6, where water came from the mains
supply, but with a vertical spill pipe of a precise
length inserted between the supply and the glider,
to avoid exceedingly high pressure and...

New GPS Visualizer features: address mapping & GPX creation by
Adam Schneider
I have a few new GPS Visualizer features to announce:
* CONVERSION TO GPX. There's always been a little-noticed "convert a
GPS file to text" link that takes your data -- in any one of the many
supported file formats -- and converts it to comma-separated or
tab-delimited text. Now that same...

No more "10 km apart". by
ir. K.P. Termaat
To avoid "yo-yoing" rules 1.4.5.b. and 1.4.3.c. of the Code have the "10 km
apart / only once" restriction. Works fine to avoid that pilots fly back and
forth between two nearby turnpoints e.g. along mountain ridges.
We feel however that it is not reasonable to apply this "anti yo-yo"
restriction...

Anti collision systems for gliders by
Simon Waddell
There's a company in Switzerland manufactures an anticollision system for
gliders called FLARM. A gadget in your glider continuously broadcasts your
GPS position over a low power radio. Gadgets in other gliders so-equipped
receive the position messages and using an appropriate algorithm...

LS-6A Questions by
Jerz Rossignol
Hey guys,
I am wondering if any of you know the size of the O-ring for the
ballast connection that comes out of the wing of a LS-6A?
Also, my front air vent keeps opening up just enough to create a very
loud whistle when I get the glider going faster than 100 knots. It
gets quite annoying to keep...

How much did the new board in the volkslogger cost you, and what was turn
around time like? I have been flying with one for several years having to
turn my squelch all the way up to keep from going nuts.
I would love to get that one from you, but the timing is not quite wright.

ASW20L extentions with winglets? by
goneill
In relation to the ASW20L extensions , do you know
of anyone having the extensions with winglets on or perhaps shortening
them to where the extended control surface ends and
putting winglets on to compensate
I would think that would boost the LD to 44-45 plus give the handling
improvements with...
