Water in the cockpit! by Matt Herron Jr.
The manual for my Ventus C states that there are 5 holes in the fin which holds up to 5 liters of water. You tape up one less hole than the liters you want. for example, if you want 3 liters, you tape up the bottom two holes. Now the problem. My Ventus C has 6 holes. More capacity? different...

Glider cockpit size by [email protected]
I had exact same problem. I ‘tried’ on many gliders (I am 180). In szd-55 I could not close the canopy. I fit comfortably in dg-300 (which I ended up buying) and I fit less comfortably in LS-4. Aside from the size dg-300 is a dream... S

Schempp Hirth Airbrake is partially not flush when locked by [email protected]
Hi, A small part of My Ventus C airbrake, in the middle of the brake, is protruding above the wing when locked, enough to annoy me. The 2 ends of the brake are fine, a small part is sticking slightly above the wing surface when the brakes are locked. Any ideas ? Dan

Eaglet Spoilerons by Jeff Dorwart
Have not flown the Eaglet, but it is the same system as on the Javelin. Control is about the same except you don't need to use as much rudder (pedal) since the spoileron creates drag on the down wing that pretty much counteracts the adverse yaw from the lift differential.I understand the Eaglet...

HPH 304 MS Flight Characteristics by [email protected]
I owned a HPH 304cz-17 my first glider. Was a joy to fly. A bit of a handful with full drag brakes out on steep approach. Had no issues. Loved that glider. My question is are owners of the 304 Shark happy with the flight characteristics? I would be interested in a MS version. Is yours for...

dimensional stability of composites by john firth
Currently, the PIK 20 E canopy is too long for the gap. The inability to force the canopy closed made me wonder if loading the fuselage in bending over a winter might cause deformation. In the PIK trailer, if the cradle does not take the weight, the nose cone and tail wheel could be supporting...

04' Cobra metal top leaks by [email protected]
How does the water sealing system on a Cobra normally work? On the inside lower edge of each side there is a small trough. (A great place to store the TE probe, etc.) If I look closely, there are small high water marks in there. Also drain holes at the front and rear ends. (One of which was...

Bending Plexiglass by Tony Condon[_2_]
I need to make a new section of the canopy on the Cherokee. Its a pretty simple bend, not really a compound curve or anything. But I dont know anything about how to do it. I suspect that I need to heat the plexi up and then weight it to bend, repeat as necessary? Im sure that several of us have...

I have had an in-flight failure with this unit. It showed at first no GPS. I restarted it and it would work ok for 5-7 minutes. then the same again. The next day it would not acquire a GPS signal at all but gave a message something about com port 6 or 9, I do not remember which. I tested the PDA...
