Greybeard
Midnight tonight. That's the end of the paid period for SBC. Signing
off now, permanently, I don't need to waste money on the net when I
get nothing for it. One email in the last two weeks, nothing in the
midi groups worth pulling down,
I don't need to go "shopping" on the net to find out when...

TE errors by
f.blair
My system, a L-Nav and a Winter variometer. Both have their own capacities,
but they share a TE probe. I have begun to see some bad compensation and
getting some 'stick' thermals. Where should I start looking for leaks,
etc.?
Thanks,
Fred Blair

WINPILOT WOES by
[email protected]
All,
I'm fairly new to using an Ipaq and Winpilot Pro (connected to a
Cambridge 302/303 for GPS input) as my flight computer. My previous
experience was with an SN-10. The more I fly with this combination the
less satisfied I become. On the ground and in simulator mode
everything seems to work...

Musings on SOARING cover photos by
Ray Lovinggood
Is there a rule stating the cover photo for SOARING
magazine HAS to be a sailplane?
I would doubt it. And why should there be?
I like the cover photo, showing the SSA headquarters
building at Hobbs, NM, in snow. It's a nice, seasonal,
shot of our organization's home base.
What else could go on...

What do the words on the back of the variometer mean?
One is Stat. druck; Druck translates to pressure,i.e. Static Pressure. Is

I was looking at the information for Winpilot, and it struck me that the
requirement for the WinPilot Advanced version requires all sorts of interesting
hardware. One exception from the list is the LX20 to feed NMEA and pressure.
Took a look at Paul's excellent refference site, but am none the...

Glider Insurance and Rental/Borrowed Ships by
ContestID67
I recently received my glider insurance renewal and found that while
the premium didn't increase much, they eliminated two important areas
of coverage.
I'd like to hear people's comments.
1) Physical damage to non-owned aircraft - This covers you flying
someone else's ship such as a rental...
