Photo to use on Convention Poster by
[email protected]
All:
I need a photo of a tight, well-populated gaggle to use on a poster for
the Glider Pilot Self-Assessment Project at the convention. It would
need to make a reasonable 8x10. Of course I've left it to the last
minute ....
Can anyone help?
Thanks,

Gliders in China by
glider rider
Does anyone know if there is a glider community in China?
With the exchange rate of the Euro, I wonder if a proven design
could be produced in China. Even if ships were hand produced
the labor rate would be very low.

State Record Rules Question by
Gary Emerson
The rules for World records prohibit claiming more than one distance and
one speed task for a flight. I've heard that this may apply to U.S.
records as well as State records as well. These particular categories
are not a part of Section 3.
A quick check of the SSA website doesn't bring up a link...

Tows in Southern Utah in March? by
ttaylor at cc.usu.edu
Is there anyplace to get a tow in Southern Utah in Mid March? I want to
get out of the cold and head south for a few days. I remember good
thermals in the area last year when I flew my Mooney down at that time
of year.

kevlar in fuselage by
Rick Walters
Hi Stewart,
The Ventus CM introduced in 1989 used a carbon fuselage
with a carbon /
kevlar fabric in the bottom of the seat area only.
The carbon fuselage
was to save weight for the motorglider, but the kevlar
was for crash
protection. The kevlar / carbon layer is visible on
the inside, so I assume

Tom Knauff quoted in 'FLYING' by
Ray Lovinggood
The February 2005 issue of 'FLYING' magazine quotes
Tom Knauff's approach to instructing with his 'That
Looks About Right' method. I haven't read Tom's book,
yet, but the magazine article appears quite thorough
in its overview of Tom's method.
