Hello Everyoe: My name is Chris McKeon. I am a longtime Hang Glider Pilot, twenty plus years of flying Flex-Wings. I was flying my Beloved Altair Predator 158 from Mount Diablo on March twenty Eight 2010. Well the wind strength turned on really strong. The wind was blowing something like...

Question for US Rules committee on AH capability within LX NAV computers? by Sean Fidler
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wR4aBVyVW0&feature=youtube_gdata_player Please endure the music and watch this video, paying particular attention to 2:00 to 2:25 into the short video. As was often argued with other PNA bases systems recently...why would these well known soaring manufactures offer...

May the Schwartz be with you by Papa3[_2_]
Ron Schwartz has been pounding the Appalachian Ridge system since shortly after dawn this morning in his trusty 1-26. As of now (about 14:00 local) he's got about 600K under his belt and looks to be across the Potomac for the tricky Sleepy Creek Mountain transition. Assuming this works out, he...

Dittel FSG 60M by John Culp
I need some help with a Dittel FSG 60M. Everything works as expected, except the frequency display is now showing 188.88 regardless of the frequency it's tuned to. Any suggestions?

LNav "meter" problem by Kurt[_3_]
I have a LNav / meter that has worked fine in the past. Sunday the meter pegged out at 10 knots and stayed there. I cycled the LNav a few times and it kept doing the same thing. Does anyone have experience with this, and if so, what was the fix? The LNav itself seems to be fine. Thanks Kurt

TST 14M on W&W by [email protected]
I admit I am not at all familiar with this glider and I couldn't really find much about it on the interwebs. I'm also not in the market. Just wondering why a seemingly modern two-seat motor glider would be selling (or not) at such a low price.

Low cost ADS-B Options by Mike Schumann[_2_]
I spent a day at Oshkosh last Monday and had a chance to talk to Trig about their ADS-B plans. The Trig TT22 Mode S Transponder is currently shipping and supports 1090ES ADS-B Out, if it is connected to an approved WAAS GPS position source. Up to now, approved GPS sources have been quite...

USA Sailplane Grand Prix V SSA contest by Sean Fidler
I'm not attacking the TAT. I'm attacking the fact that the Good Old Boys, US RC, SSA, etc., has totally lost touch with sailplane racing and has allowed TATs to become the ONLY competition measure. The US no longer holds ANY straight forward racing tasks. None, nada, ziltch, zero. And the US...

Cheap Glider Trailer Refinish by [email protected]
I have an alluminum "cigar tube" trailer for my Glasflugel Libelle. Over the past 5 years the previous owner has left it outside in the Texas sun and weather which has resulted in some chips of paint starting to fall off and some algae growing on the paint. (By the way, it rigs great and is...

First Glider Flight by Dan Marotta
I was in Robert Mudd's shop yesterday and he had a Grob 103, N928BG. He told me that it came from Hawaii. I just looked in my log book and found that it was the first glider I ever flew! My brother took me to Dillingham Field and introduced me to Elmer and, after talking a while, he gave me...

PZL KI13 Compass adjustment / manual by [email protected]
My glider came with a PZL KI13 Compass - it turns fine but seems to be 90° out of alignment. I tried to adjust it and found I could choose between 90 or 180° of incorrectness! It might be because of the Borgelt B40 vario I put next to it so I may not be able to keep this setup. I didn't notice...

L-23 assembly by [email protected]
I purchased an L-23 a few months back. I hope to fly soon. It's still tucked away in the trailer. I purchased three wing stands from Wing & Wheels to assist with assembly. Are there any tips out there to make the process go smoothly? I moved the wings around when we did the annual & they're...
