Getting used to the Arrow...and I like it...a lot! by
Jack Allison
To date I have a whopping 8 hours in the Arrow. The last 2.9 were by
far the most fun since the two flights involved maneuvers and landings
(lots of landings). The more I get to fly N2104T, the more I like it.
Things are becoming more and more comfortable and familiar. Still have
lots to learn...

trying to get 125 planes registered to attend by May 1st to help cover

Here we go again by
Roger
Sorry if this shows up multiple times, but my (Charter's) news server
has gone screwey again.
We have some turf wars going on and it looks like the pilots may be
the losers.
First: we have a small airport with two runways 18/36 at 3000' X 75
and 06/24 at 3800' X 75. No scheduled flights or...

Fun weekend buying an Arrow (long) by
Jack Allison
A few more details on my Arrow buying adventure this weekend. Sorry, no
pictures posted yet but I did send a couple to Jay H. for an appropriate
update (as in "Jay, could you do me a favor and replace the picture of
the rental C-172 with pictures of much nicer airplane").
Saturday: Flew...

Is a 152 a good start? by
AliR
Hi Everyone,
I just saw an ad for an IFR 1978 152 with 5230 total hours, 370 SMOH for
$30K.
Is that a good first plane? I am wondering how much insurance will run for
such an airplane (I am IFR with 230+ hours, working on Commercial ticket).
How much is the operational cost of a 152?

A Real, Live Hallmark Xmas Ornament by
Jay Honeck
80 degrees in Iowa? In April? If this is "global warming" I'm all for it.
And if it's just an early spring, well, all the better!
When we departed KIOW today, shortly after noon, the sun was warm, the winds
light, and my 14-year-old son was in the right seat. Mary, having worked 25
of the last...

Southwest trip advice by
flyboy909
My wife and I are planning a cross country excursion in our new (to
us) Beech Sundowner in late June. We're based in the Northeast and
our plan is to fly out to Manhatten Kansas to see family for a day,
then on to the Grand Canyon area, and then to Denver before flying
back.
I am a 120 hour pilot...

WINGS tips? by
[email protected]
An upcoming WINGS event has instructors volunteering their time to
participants for the flying portion for free. However, the notice says
that satisfied customers will not be discouraged from tipping their
instructors.
What is considered an appropriate tip for this situation (assuming I'm

Flying dogs by
G Farris
Is this some sort of malicious code or something?
My security settings won't allow me to play it, and I'm supposed to download
and install some exotic .exe file to see it. I'll pass on the flying dogs!
Here's a safe one though :

NEW FLIGHT SCHOOL - Best in Flight Aviation Academy - Morristown, New Jersey by
Guy Elden Jr
MMU really isn't so little anymore. With all the new construction over
at the Signature ramp the past few years, and all the damn bizjets
flying in and out of there day and night, it's starting to resemble
Teterboro now.
I just moved to Madison, 10 minutes from the field, and I've heard...

Dave Vioreanu
Robert-
Thank you for your well-wishes! We certainly hope to get a lot of local
business, but also want those longer-distance pilots, who own their own
planes, to be able to take advantage of our convenient hours and pricing
when progressing through further training. It will also give them...

Collings Foundation B24 and B17 by
Mike 'Flyin'8'
The Collings Foundation will be stopping by French Valley Airport 4/20
through 4/22. I can not wait to go see the planes! I was really
surprised to learn they will be coming to the local airport. This is
a first! I have seen the B17 before, but never the B24.
I am excited to go by and tour...

Shopping for intercom by
Casey Wilson
Hi all,
I'm in the market for a battery-powered intercom for 2-to-4 headsets.
Sporty's is kind of pricey, and I'm the basic cheap ba....., whatever. In
addition to battery portability, I'd like to have an adapter to go from the
??PL-59 down to the mini-jack plug.
Any suggestions? For the...

UK Rookie pilot training in USA by
Rookie
Hi There.
Been lurking for a while, and would be interested in peoples opinion
about a UK national getting JAA/CAA PPL in the USA.
I am thinking about using the Anglo American Aviation International
School in San Diego, CA. It is CAA cross certified, and lets face the
facts that learning to fly...

also make the trip, flown by members of the French Euro Squadron. All are
scheduled to depart Paris on July 18 and arrive at Wittman Regional Airport
