Bad news for Americans by
transputer
CHICAGO (Reuters) - High-tech jobs may be moving overseas but one
low-tech job Americans could always fall back on was flipping burgers at
McDonald's.
That could change in the not-too-distant future. Later this year, a
Chicago-area McDonald's restaurant will fry up hamburgers with an
automated...

AFM 66-1 Available? Where? by
David K. Bryant
Anyone know where to get a copy of the AFM 66-1 manual?
Was it replaced with another maintenance program?
I've been able to locate the Navy's Aviation Maintenance
program (OPNAV 4790.2H) and would like to compare it to
the AFM 66-1.
Anyone know what the Army uses for Maintenance Data collection?

Did I hear correctly on the news that PFC Lynch was awarded a Bronze Star

freakin Bronze Star? What act of heroism did she perform? Don't get me
wrong, I'm not saying she did anything wrong but isn't the Army getting...

Well, the people who know about this stuff know *all* about it through--to
them--obvious sources---post-war Wainwright staff debriefs, Duty Journals and
other documents (so much for burning sensitive documents!) captured by the
Japanese, shipped to Japan and recovered there at war's end, all on...

Anyone watch Discovery Wings this afternoon (Friday 08/01/03) by
Jim Atkins
Ever seen Stan Piel's book on the Martin Seamaster? Excellent stuff on how
they would have supported the squadrons. Beautiful plane, too. BTW, if you
want to see a Sea Dart, one is at the San Diego Aerospace Museum. Definitely
worth the trip. One of my favorite things is taking the harbor cruise-...

good book about prisoners of war by
Jim Atkins
There was a camp in Phoenix- some of the German POWs heard that they were
not too far from the Salt River, so they put together some kind of raft and
got through the wire. Imagine their disappointment at reaching the
rock-strewn ditch that passes for a river in Arizona. Incidentally, they...

YF-23 exhaust? by
Sir Loin of Beef
I'm currently building a model of the YF-23, and need some help
detailing the exhaust area.
The italeri kit depicts some strips around the exhaust tiling. In the
real aircraft, are these strips sheet metal? I've seen a walkaround:
