A/C rentals in OKC area? by
[email protected]
Hi all,
I will be in the Oklahoma City/Moore area for three weeks in Oct. and
would like to do some flyin'. Any suggestions on where to rent (or
not to)? Most convenient would probably be OUN Norman Westheimer,
followed by Wiley Post, or Perry in Noble.
Or does anyone want a flyin buddy ? ...

WxWorx customer service by
Dan Luke
My 2-year old WxWorx receiver wouldn't power up in the airplane
weekend-before-last. Investigation showed the fuse blown in the DC power
adapter. I replaced the fuse and the new one promptly blew.
I sent the receiver and the power adapter back to WxWorx for repair the
following Monday (8/22). ...

New CFI by
Mediacom
Well, after lingering in these groups for a while and dreaming about the day
I could start flight lessons I think that day is finally here. I made a
trip out to the local FBO to figure out what exactly the next step is and
more specifically how I go about choosing a flight instructor. It turns...

SF Bay Area to Henderson Executive (Las Vegas) by
jackle
I'm planning a trip from Palo Alto to Las Vegas, landing at Henderson
Exec (closest airport to where we are staying). I'll be flying in a
Saratoga.
I'd like to benefit from other's experiences. In particular:
1) Best route from PAO to Henderson?
2) Best arrival procedure through Las Vegas...

Learning to Fly with Squadron2 San Jose Reid Hillview by
BladerunnerCons
Hi all,
I'm about to take the first leap into learning to fly by choosing an instructor. I've heard good reports about the folks at squadron2 at reid Hillview and was wondering if any of you could recommend a particular instructor (and reasons why). I'd appreciate any feedback you can give...

Adjustment driver for King VOR head by
Robert M. Gary
My #2 VOR is the older analog King head feed by a KX-170B. It likes to
get out of adjustment. The local radio shop has told me I should get
the screw driver and adjust it myself off the VOT. If you remove the
set screw that holds the knob on, there is an adjustment screw behind
it. However, the...

Anyone out there have a remote channeling kit (#03312-0501) for a Narco
DME 190 they are willing to part with? If so email me and lets talk.

tie downs in the bush by
tom pettit
I've seen two basic gizmos for tying down a plane in the bush: something
that looks like a corkscrew, and something that looks like and auger. Which
one is best, and why?
thanks

GPS questions by
Jase Vanover
Background... newly minted PPL, looking to ease navigation via GPS. I
actually find it cool to navigate via maps, compass and timepiece, but I
realize there is a lot more capability out there.
I'll be renting for awhile, so portability is important. I've done the
standard research (including...

STS to RNT by
Jose
I'm flying STS (Santa Rosa CA) to RNT (Renton WA, near Seattle), VFR
direct in early September. This takes me over some (7000 ft) hills with
higher terrain nearby, but in most cases the valley is not far away.
I'm thinking of crusing at about 8500 (unless the wind is strong, in
which case I'll go...

Last Bax Seat by
Doug Vetter
My Flying subscription ran out years ago for all the usual reasons. As
I watched the subscription offers that littered my mailbox drop from
$20, then to $15, and finally $10 a year, I just couldn't stand it
anymore. I had to give Flying another try. I mean, for $10, how could
I lose?

Cockpit midget-door on DC3? by

At Oshkosh, I was noticing that DC3s have a little half-height door
behind and below the pilot's seat, and about one, maybe two hairs
forward of the left prop. There's a good picture on this ebay auction

Mooney 201 prop by
Nathan Young
Walking out to my plane yesterday, I had the opportunity to walk
through a number of A/C to get to mine. I passed a Mooney (looked
like a 201) and realized that the width of the prop blades was
significant... It was much wider than my fixed pitch Sensenich,
wider than the blades on the Bonanza...
