Controller screwed up? by
Paul Tomblin
I was coming in to land on RWY 4 at ROC. There was a North West MD80 at
the hold short line. Almost as soon as my mains touched down, before I'd
slowed down, the tower controller cleared the North West flight to take
off. I came back with "977 is still on the runway on runway 4", with a

Looking for 1978 R182 Data by
Cetacea
I am looking for some aircraft data for a 1978 Cessna R182. I am going
to take my Commercial checkride in about 3 weeks and want to have the
data in my Flightsoft program. I was going to purchase a POH, but the
cheapest I have found online was $88!
I am looking specifically for Takeoff/landing...

NTSB question by
Jay Honeck
How does the NTSB go about researching GA accidents? Specifically,
how do they decide *when* they're going to do the investigation, and
when (or if) they are going to release information?
Our friend Blaine Andersen was killed in a crash near Grinnell, IA
last winter. See the preliminary report...

ah another beautiful day by
Kevin Clarke
Woke up this morning and just didn't want to go to work. :-)
So I did the next best logical thing, I went to the airport and went
flying. Picked up a friend (non-pilot) at Nashua and did some slow
flight around his house so he could talk some pics. Around Mt. Monadnock
in S. New Hampshire and...

Happy Birthday by
James Sleeman
The Cessna 150 prototype first flew on September 12, 1957
(source:wikipedia).
With so many pilots having had thier training in a C150 or 152, I
think it's fair to remark on the fact that the 150 turns 50 Years
young today.
Will it still be flying in another 50?

Flight Training in India? by
[email protected]
Hello Everyone,
I am interested to know if anyone has any information on flight
training in India. I have done a little "googleing", and of course
there is training available. What I= am wondering is if anyone here
has any understanding of the cost vis-a-vis instruction in the U.S.
If the...

Amazon/Ikonos data for Fossett search:that's all? by
mitcheroo
Unless I'm missing something, the new Ikonos imagery for Google Earth
doesn't cover much.
It looks like a rectangular block of new imagery that is roughly 50
miles tall by 30 miles wide (with an additional 15 mile x 15 mile
block adjacent to the bottom of its SW corner). The Flying M Ranch...

Diet drinks by
Jeff[_1_]
After reading a couple of posts lately about fellow pilots losing their
medicals or grounding themselves, I thought I'd throw this out there to chew
on.
I recently had a round with my local Dr., AME and a neurologist. I have
been cleared to fly after experiencing "light headedness" along with...

Aircraft (ASEL) Rental Needed near Ft. Worth by
John T.[_4_]
I expect to be near Ft. Worth, TX (close to Lakeworth) in early October
and would like to rent a plane for a couple of days to make a 300 nmi
trip (each way) to KBEA. I require only two seats, but would prefer IFR
and 115 KTAS or faster, so that probably means 180 hp or greater.
I have 1500...

New student pilot by
Richard Carpenter
Hello everyone. I've been hanging out in the MS Flight Simulator group
for a while, enjoying my recently found interest in aviation such that
my means would allow. MSFS is a fine product, even though it doesn't
compare to the real thing, of course.
Yesterday for my 40th birthday my most excellent...

Thermawing problem fixed when? by
Arno
Hello,
does anyone know when the Thermawing problem that is affecting the
Columbias is likely to get fixed? I was surprised not to see much
about it on the web, besides the Airworthiness Directive to disable
it.

Winds 320 at 3, gusts to 18 by
Jay Honeck
We were flying into Prairie du Chien, WI (PDC) today, for brunch at
the casino after picking up our son's girlfriend in Davenport, IA
(DVN) for her very first airplane ride, ever, and I was taxiing out
for departure, when PDC's AWOS reported this somewhat bizarre wind
reading.
That's a new record...

Then we had a C150 emergency land...
